Never mind. Hes a step ahead. I went to feed him and i noticed momma was out of food so i went to get her more. Put it in ger dish and i started to make jaspers bottle. I turn around and hes going to town on some sheba with his mom.

Well i wanted them to each have enough so i went and got another bowl and can of sheba and got the momma eating out of another bowl. In typical cat fashion jasper quit eating out of his bowl and went to eat with his momma.

Yay, Jasper! I was going to tell you that until you actually see him eating, keep giving the bottle. Now you can start putting his formula in a dish for him to lap up! Voila! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I fall more in love with that kitten every picture!  He's so big now!  And quite a handsome boy.

Both or either is fine. It's actually better that he's eating the wet food now. It has moisture that he needs. He'll eventually eat dry food too.

You need to put his formula in a dish for him now if you are not giving him the bottle. He still needs milk and calcium. You can't just cut him off. Or at least give him a night-night bottle. He still needs milk. He's a baby.

The dish is on the ground with kmr. I went in for the final feeding and put wet down for him and momma. He went right to it and went to town.

Hes apparently too big for the bottle now. Ive been trying to bottle feed him and he wont take it. So its on the floor in a dish. Ill keep trying though.
And when you say 4-6 is that 4-6 three oz cans a day or make sure he has fresh 4-6 times a day?

He doesn't need the bottle anymore apparently! Is he lapping it from the dish?

He needs wet food 4-6 times a day - but the servings need to be his size. I doubt he can eat 3 ounces at one sitting at his little size right now, and because he's little he needs it offered 4-6 times.

You're bottle free! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

I havnt seen him take it from the dish since i put it down but then again today was the first day i noticed he wasnt taking the bottle. I put it down yesterday for good measures.

Okay 4-6 in his portion is doable. I was thinking you meant 4-6 3oz cans a day and thoughy you were nuts!

That would be nuts! He'd blow up to the size of a Macy's parade balloon!

He probably only eats a teaspoonful at a time right now.

FYI, as an aside, Fancy Feast and Sheba both come in small  cans and one of those wet canned foods come with lids on 3 or 4 cans in the box, therefore you can portion out what Jasper will eat and put a lid on the rest of the wet food that is left in the can and place into the refrigerator for another feeding.  No wasted food!!  These lids by the way are plastic and washable.  Therefore you can re-use them for another feeding  at another time.

Just read the entire thread! Wow what a fantastic kitty Daddy you are!

Jasper looks utterly adorable and so healthy! Really looking forward to seeing more pictures and hearing more about how he's getting on! Keep up the good work,  you've done a fab job :)

Thanks for the info! Ive never bought the variety box. I usually just buy them singlely as i can provide a better variety that way. Its kind of funny tough going ti the cash register with 20+ cand alll needing to be rang up separately.

Have jasper and his mom been living with your mom this whole time? Sorry if I missed something!

It's almost time to book mom's spay. Have you made any progress there? I know you were working on it!
