Ok just a few questions, my daughter has a cold and wondering if I can use a chest rub on her ? They are pretty smelly for us will it affect my cat if she is around him? Will the smell make him sick?? It has camphor in it.

Tea tree oil is it safe to use around cats? I heard its good for a lot of things. I don't want to use it on my cat cos I don't think it's safe but is it ok for us to use for ourselves.

Also what can I use on my cat if he has a minor cut near his nail? It's not bleeding know and think it was from when I give him a bath and trying to get out of the bath he hurt himself.

If it happens again which am sure it will from time to time, what is safe product I can use to stop minor bleeding or to clean with besides water??
Our cat is totally indoors by the way.

I see cats are similar to children and will have a minor cut from time to time lol
I found a app for first aid which is helpful but that is more for major problems.

I don't think the fumes from a rub would harm your cat. He could just leave if he doesn't like the smell. And you're right, they are much more sensitive to smells than us. But it should be OK to use a normal vapour rub as long as he doesn't get any on him. You wouldn't want him ingesting it.

As for the bleeding, I've used a styptic powder in the past and usually have some on hand in my medicine cabinet. Something like this:

Apparently you can just use cornstarch instead too, although I've never tried that.

Thanks for the info, will have to get some or something like it, as I am in Australia am sure I can get something to keep here though. But I could try the cornstarch for sure.
