my cat is turning one in a week I know I'm suppose to switch her food soon but I'm not sure to which one, and I'm nervous she'll get sick from the switch. She eats wellness dry kitten food and she really likes it, she doesn't like the wet food and I would like to keep feeding her wellness.

You should be changing the formula throughout the year, not just once a year. Keep the same brand but get a different main meat for the kibble. You transition your kitty slowly; 3/4 old food mixed with 1/4 new food for a few days, then 1/2 old food and 1/2 new food for a few days, etc.
I would switch to adult though, in my experience Kitten Kibble has higher fat content which isn't needed for adults.

What do you mean thoughout instead of once a year? Are you saying I should switch it various times a year?

Exactly what I'm saying :) cats (and dogs) need variety. I like to compare it to humans, would you be happy with just eating cocoa puff cereal 24/7/365? Naw, you'd probably want some cheerios or fruity pebbles. I change my formula every time I buy a new bag of kibble. Same brand, different main protein.

Okay thank you! I'm going to buy her an indoor formula to start her off and once she's done with that one I'll get her a new one!

It's definitely right that you should transition her to a new food slowly.  For switching from kitten to adult food, I would stick to the same protein but in the new formula.  I don't think there is a problem with continuing to feed the same protein if your cat likes it.  The exception would be if you're feeding mainly fish.  A fishy diet isn't very healthy.

Also, please continue trying to introduce different wet foods.  it's much better if you can manage.  You can try other brands for that other than wellness.

How is she otherwise?  Spayed?  Vaccinated?
