My first cat was a drooler :lol3:You had to have a tea towel handy when he sat on your lap, bless him.
(@Rhondalee...Chirp sounds so adorable. Wondering, though, does he do that cat thing, of drooling, then a quick shake of the head,? so that you would get strategically showered on, by cat spit.
Unintentionally, of course, since I don't think our cats aim for us, but we still got wet. At least I hope my previous cat Spotty did not do it intentionally.

@reversedpolarit...lol...Yes, having a tea towel around,or basically any type of towel, would have been the smart and wise thing to do. I never thought of that.

His new favourite game is 'find the treats', he's especially confused by my hand being closed over treats, bless him. I was getting him used to his igloo but got distracted by how happy he was to 'hunt'.
I am a little confused by this game, too.

Is it the one where you want him to sniff out which hand the treat is in?

Or is it just throw the treat, and go run and find it...that would seem easier....maybe...maybe not.

Hunting treats seems a little hard, unless you're a cat. (I'd probably want to stay in the igloo, instead.)

Sounds like you both had loads of fun.

@Catnap hahaha. No, Chirp doesn't shake his head. But it is like reversedpolarit reversedpolarit stated,I need a tea towel. Once, I wasn't paying attention where his drool was going and when my company arrived, he took off and I looked like I was 'lactating'! I haven't nursed a baby in 30 years.

Oh, goodness,...I cannot get that vision out of my head now, and I cannot stop laughing.
I hope your company understood that strange scene.

Thanks for the laugh of the day.  (So helpful that Chirp took off, and no evidence of drooling cat, around, too.)

I better have tea towels handy, just in case.

@Catnap They understood after I explained. They did notice it right away though. Before I noticed it. Lol. Ahhh. It's all in good fun. And yes, that was pretty rotten of him to take off on me.

rhondalee rhondalee what an image :lol3: Chirp is gorgeous!

tarasgirl06 tarasgirl06 awh! Harry (the drooler) did the same thing, couldn't let him near anything nice else it'd be drenched. :lol3: Last time I saw Otto I noticed he drools in his sleep because he often sleeps with his mouth slightly open.

There aren't many digital pictures of Harry, so here's very young me sharing a box with him.

Arc (or gingerbread as BF & I have taken to calling him - he curls up like a loaf of bread) is still doing great. Last dose of Metacam today and the Synulox finishes on Tuesday. Still no side effects (especially glad that he's pooping solids, really didn't want to be cleaning liquid up for a week!). He let me have a look at his stitches and they look good still, no infection.

He's made progress with BF too, now I know which treats Arc likes most it's easier to get him to stop hiding so much. :lol3: He ate treats from BF's hand too. He still can't figure out the puzzle ball I got for him though. He's been acting more like a cat too, rubbing against our legs if he thinks it's food time and talking. Last night he came to bed with us and fell asleep on my legs for the first time, he was so sleepy that I was able to move him onto BF's feed so my dead legs could recover.

His thyroid test results are back, I'm just waiting for the vet to ring to tell me what they are. Fingers crossed. Blood work still isn't back.

Still, I have one very happy cat! He does have a slight sneer if you catch him at the right angle.

I've been thinking about maybe working up to him wearing a harness so we can go into the garden once it's been cleared up. Whenever he's in the box and we're outside he'll be right at the front watching everything. Think I got a picture whilst we were waiting for a taxi. He's more afraid of cars, but otherwise he just seems curious. My road is pretty quiet, so if we did make it to the garden there wouldn't be much traffic. We'll leave it a few months more I think anyway, once I know he's definitely well and settled in. Even if we just go out into the hall he can sit in the sun much more easily. I'm going to get (or DIY) a screen door so I can have the front door open to air the flat a bit better and he can see what's going on.

No. No more cat for me apart from the 2 I've got. I'm closing up on to 72 and don't want to die before my cats.
I had a tabby called gentle lmao. She was so spiteful but I loved her and although I got scratched at times she was on my lap most of the time and slept with me. She was pts aged about 16. Lovely girl.
Now I have an abandoned siamese called whisky and a black and white street cat called blighty. I share my flat, but not my bed, with my ex and they adore him and suffer me. It's most upsetting. Oh well. I can't force them to love me and they throw me a crumb now and again.

Test results are back! Kidneys came back slightly elevated, but vet isn't concerned. We'll re-test in six weeks and see if it's stabilised. :woohoo:

Arc is being very loving, he hasn't moved from my side since I sat down at my desk half an hour ago.

What a loyal little man you have there [emoji]10084[/emoji]️ It is pretty amazing how quickly he has bonded to you [emoji]128571[/emoji]
Great news from the bloodwork...I'm sure you are quite relieved! I love the idea of getting him outside to the garden [emoji]127800[/emoji]. I'm working towards getting my girl to accept being on a harness. My only goal is to get her as far as the grassy courtyard outside my front door. If she wants to go further, we'll go further but I think she would love being out in the secluded courtyard....but first I have to get her to be ok with the harness.

Really amazing! He's like my shadow these days. I'm getting him used to wearing a collar first, then we might work our way up to outside things. Good luck with your girl!

He doesn't stop surprising me. Apart from BF he's only met one other friend, and only once. She came over today and he was affectionate with her from the start, slightly wary but happy to be stroked. I gave her his dinner to give him to bribe him even more. He sat with us on the sofa for a bit and was more than happy to endure double petting! I think he does respond better to females, but even so it's pretty amazing!

He's just been playing madly on the bed, which was really lovely. He hadn't played so much since we went to the vet on Monday! He's had his last dose of Metacam, so just four more days of Synulox. I'm looking for a toothpaste I can get him, I doubt I can manage to brush, but a paste should help some. I have people staying over Thursdsy night, so I'll hold off on starting the coconut oil until a few days after then.
