Welcome to tcs.

Where did you get this kitten?  What are you feeding him, and how often?  He is very small for his age.

Hi, This is my baby kitten. He is 10 weeks old and weighs 10 ounces.
He is extremely small for his age.  Now the question is, is he emaciated into extremis and its Red Alert, of is he by nature minuscule tea cup size, and seemingly OK and healthy in every aspect you can notice?  If so, its just Yellow Alert.

Does he plays normally, moves, jumps, races and wrestles?   Or is he barely moving barely playing a little?

How is his body beneath all this fur?  Decently rounded or verry meagre?

If he is  just minuscule its not that dramatic, but you must know the margins are much thinner than for normal big kittens.   Its not unusual death comes for them literally in hours, as something collapses.

So be sure he has good nourishment.  Goats milk esp raw is never wrong, etc.

But if he is emaciated, its Red Alert, goats milk if you can get it, and all the works...  Small portions but often, and try to increase them.  Forcefeed if necessary.  Dont stop just because he is sleepy or hasnt much appetite...

His name is Mickey Little. He runs and plays. I feed him 4-6 times a day, very small portions. Warm kitten milk, Origen. Dry kitten food but wet, nutraCal for kittens, OPC3 and OPC Pet Health.
He is doing very well Plays and runs to litter box, I have brought him to the vets twice, he will go again this week. Is a lover boy. I will post a video and pictures if I can. He is purring loudly now.

He is extremely small for his age.  Yes, he is very very small for his age.

Now the question is, is he emaciated into extremis and its Red Alert,  No, he is very healthy

of is he by nature minuscule tea cup size, and seemingly OK and healthy in every aspect you can notice?  Yes, he is a napoleon kitten and the breeder has very tiny kittens.  This is the smallest so far and was given to me as she would not feel safe selling it to an owner. I have to take good care of him.

If so, its just Yellow Alert.  What is a yellow alert?

Does he plays normally, moves, jumps, races and wrestles?  Yes, all the time

Or is he barely moving barely playing a little?  He runs up and down the hallway, climbs the steps, runs to me, uses the litter box and eats on his own.

How is his body beneath all this fur?  His body is very healthy

Decently rounded or verry meagre?  Certainly decently rounded

If he is  just minuscule its not that dramatic, but you must know the margins are much thinner than for normal big kittens.   Its not unusual death comes for them literally in hours, as something collapses.  I am well aware that these things can happen, but this little kitten is covered in the blood of the risen Lord and He is the one that takes care of him He is perfectly healthy, just little, like his owner.

So be sure he has good nourishment.  Goats milk esp raw is never wrong, etc. He does not get goats milk, fed 4-6 small meals a day, gets opc3 mixed with water in Origen Kitten dry food, that is all the food, then he gets the kitten formula milk and also he gets the nutritional cal.

I hope I answered all the questions feel free to ask more. Presently Mr. Mickey Little is sitting in my lap playing on the computer as I write

But if he is emaciated, its Red Alert, goats milk if you can get it, and all the works...  Small portions but often, and try to increase them.  Forcefeed if necessary.  Dont stop just because he is sleepy or hasnt much appetite...

Does he have constant access to dry kitten food?  He should be able to eat as much as he wants, with additional meals of wet kitten food and kmr.  I am glad you are caring for him.  Please let us know what the vet says.  This seems like a very dangerous breeding.

Does he have constant access to dry kitten food?  NO, and he will not be allowed to. He is too small, no responsible person would allow a little kitten that young to eat anytime. He need to have a strict schedule. the old rule of thumb that a cat will stop eating is not true.

He should be able to eat as much as he wants, with additional meals of wet kitten food and kmr.  He is very little, I am feeding him top of the line kitten food and I am in constant communication with a vet.

I am glad you are caring for him. Yes, I am caring for him.   Please let us know what the vet says.  The vet has said overtime that he is in perfect health, just small.

This seems like a very dangerous breeding. I am sure the breeder did not expect this to happen. God is in control, not breeders. This breeder breeds healthy kittens and occasionally something does go wrong and she will lose one or two, but that is the way it is. This kitten was born this way, perfect and even the first vet that he went to said he was perfect, just tiny and gave the kitten a clean bill of health. She refused to sell the kitten to the buyer and instead gave the kitten to me as I am a person that is devoted to taking care of small little animals, have been doing it since I was just a young teenager.

I know the kitten is small, but the kitten is lovely and healthy and runs and plays.  There is nothing wrong with being little. God created Mickey Little, not the breeder, not man, but the Lord Most High, He is in charge, not us, so if you don't like Mickey Little, or you don't like me ignore these post.

I am not saying that I dislike your cat, and I don't think anyone else is either.  He is just a concerning size for his age, as you know.  I am glad that you have explained that you are working with a vet.

Most people who are raising kittens leave dry food down for them to constantly graze on when they are hungry.  It is very, very difficult to overfeed a kitten, and I do disagree with it being irresponsible to leave food down.  I do wonder whether your little guy is getting is getting enough if you are solely feeding him meals.  How often and how much do you feed him?

@cheriebred   Welcome to TCS!

This forum is for those who seek help and advice for their pregnant cats and the kittens and so people have been responding based on the fact that you've posted here.

I think you probably just wanted to show everyone your new kitten?

The place for that is our New Cats on the Block forum.   It would be lovely to see you and your new kitten there.

Im happy your cat is "just" a healthy miniature cat.   Not a highly emaciated cat.

We were concerned before the pic cleared out, you see, we have had all these variations here.    Including emaciated kittens.

Red Alert is:  Immediate high danger,   extreme risk

Yellow Alert is; beware,  there is risks

Just wanted to update everyone. Mickey Little went to the vet today. He was checked from head to toe. This is another vet to get another check up. Totally impressed. She believes Mickey Little is a miracle. Every organ, every bone, every tooth...everything is perfect. So please don't worry about little Mickey, I am sorry I posted on the wrong page, This is my first time on the site.  Oh. and she did say that I was feeding  him correctly and not to leave food out for him because if I did he might eat too much and it would make his belly hard. Not good. He should eat a teaspoon of food every three hours. If his belly is not hard then he can eat more. To continue with the OPC3, the Pet Health, the nutrition supplement and the baby milk. She was so impressed. Praising God

I hope you will continue posting photos as he grows!

That still doesn't sound like enough food to me, but I am sure the vet had her reasons.  I know most people do leave dry food down for kittens as they need to eat as much as they can to grow.  Then wet meals are fed in addition.  Maybe there are special considerations for a kitten of Mickey's size and age.

Wow! He is adorable, and so, so tiny! Gosh, the majority of my two week old kittens weigh the same or more than him, so that's just crazy to think about.

I'm really glad he's doing well, and I would love to see pictures as he grows. Keep posting!

Yes there are. He is just 10 oz, that is very tiny...His stomach is small. If he eats too much, which he loves to eat, his tummy will get hard and possible he will throw up. The vet is using wisdom. She is very smart and also very impressed with how I have been feeding Mickey. She exclaims that he is indeed a miracle and she is going to be doing more research on Napoleons. She  has had many Napoleons but has never met one this tiny. By the way on My scale this morning he is weighing 13.2  Playing all morning, hasn't stopped, just such a perfect kitten.  A little Miracle.

HI,

I will now share Mickey Littles story and share picture of his update...you will understand why the small servings I believe.

Ok, here is his story'  this I wrote to my friends on Facebook

You have not heard a lot from me this week. It has been very difficult. On Tuesday morning Mickey Little aspirated on some can food. I was not certain what it was but he went into deep breathing and became lethargic. I did not realize this is what had happened to him. He stopped eating and hid. I brought him to the vet on Wednesday and was informed he had aspirated on food and had fluid in the lungs. Also he had pneumonia. His temp was 95 degrees. The vet told me he had started shutting down. He suggested he take him and put him on oxygen for two days. I refused. i was not going to leave Mickey Little alone. The vet was not happy and said that I needed to get him euthanized if I wouldn't treat him. That I was being cruel because he was in pain. He was in suffering but he was also a fighter and also he was in more pain with the doctor as he pricked his little ear. I told him I would not do that and that Mickey Little would live. That I believed God would heal him. Well needless to say that appointment did not go well. He did not give me any medicine for Mickey Little. I brought Mickey Little home and nursed him. He was forced fed with clinging teeth NatraCal and also OPC3. I massaged him and put him in the bathroom with hot shower running to help clear his lungs. I played the bible in his room. I prayed that he would act normal, start eating and coming to me. Well, last night I went in and sat on the floor. I peeked under the dresser, I heard a purr. I had not heard that since Tuesday. I called Mickey Little and he came out. He actually came out, he walked. I was so happy. Then last night I forced fed him at 2, I had to put the opc3 in his mouth along with the NautraCal as he held his mouth shut, but I was determined. I put him back in his bed. In the morning I took him out and just carried him in the bed with me. He started licking my nose...then he bit it. He was very hungry. I got up and he actually licked the NaturalCal and then he started drinking. I put him on the floor and he walked to the litter box. He has been acting totally normal all day. He is a miracle. Since Tuesday if anyone asked me how Mickey was doing I would say "he is alive" I would think...if he has breath he has a chance. God healed Mickey Little. Praising God all day. Here he is on my lap and on the scale. He lost 2 ounces, but he is alive. He runs, he plays and he purrs.

TODAYS UPDATE:  Good morning everyone. Do you know what the best medicine is? It is the Word of God. The word is health do ALL your flesh. This little fella, Mickey Little is indeed a miracle answered by prayer. I brought him to a new vet yesterday and she examined him from head to toe, chest, lungs, heart, teeth, ears, eyes, paws....she was in shocked, well he only weighed 8 oz on the their scale, I told him he weighed 11 on mine that morning....she says we are talking grams here. But she said to me after I described the prior week that their is no doubt in her mind he is a miracle. It doesn't make sense how he is doing so well. She said she now knows where to go when the tough cases come in. Mickey Little loves his new vet and the new vet loves Mickey Little. She said she has seen a lot of napoleons but this one is by far the littlest guy she has ever met. He is growing quickly now as you can see by the scale, at least a few ounces a day. When the good Lord heals, He heals everything to perfection and Mickey Little is

He loves his little crate and goes to it during the day. He is eating well, all better 100 percent perfect...This little fellow is a miracle and God saved him to show everyone the power of prayers and a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Do you know him?
