Found a kitten!?!

Recently my mom found a kitten abandoned on the highway and took him home. He was pretty beat up but is doing substantially better. It's nearly been a week now since we got him. He eats like crazy which is expected. Wet and dry kitten food. Uses the litter box and is very loving and playful but he is SUPER vocal. He does not stop crying! It is starting to get out of hand. What do I do and what could possibly be a cause of this? Is it because he was abandoned? How do I help!?

He's missing his momma and litter mates. Hold him and pet him a lot to reassure him. You also might get a Feliway diffuser to calm him down. You might also take him to a vet to see if he has any injuries that could be causing him pain.

I've been trying to hold him but he seems to be way too energetic and squirms away.Doing my best but unless he's tired he sure doesn't care to be snuggled..

God bless you for rescuing that little guy! Is there any way that you could adopt a littermate for him? The nice thing about cats is that 2 aren't much more cost, time and effort than one. Other than that, I can only suggest tons of play time or maybe finding a friend who has a playmate for him whom you can visit frequently.
