Hello!
I am new to the forum. I am in search of ways to verify good breeders. What should I be looking for? I have done some research and can use common sense but I am looking for pointers. I have used the Internet but find it hard to believe all I read. I have scheduled a visit and want to know what I should be on the lookout for.

first of I LOVE savannahs! they are my favorite breed!

what type of savannah are you looking for? f1?, f0?2, f3?

savannah cats are the second most expensive breed. a f1 kitten could be priced anywhere from 10,000 dollars to 20,000 dollars.

also savannah cats need a LOT of space! they can jump higher than any domestic cat. be ready for having to take your savannah cat on walks and having a litter box the size of your bath tub.

I'm not to sure about pointers, I suggest contacting an advisor on this website, or even a professional!! if needed I can do some research.

an animal I have always wanted is a serval, which is one of the animals that make a savannah. servals, supposedly are supposed to bond with you better than any other animal. they accept you as part of their pack. servals cost less than a savannah, they are silly and love their owner SO much. even though they are a wildcat, their are no reports of violence by one as a pet, that I can find.

Thanks for your insight. I am looking at a F3 or F4. My concern is not knowing what to look for at the breeders facilities. I am prepared and have planned for changes at the house and lined up a vet.

Well good luck! Make SURE you get a kitten! You won't have to worry about health problems in this breed either!
