Sukie waiting to go to bed, Sukie in her elastic mode and at the top, Sukie pretending to hide under a chair.

Best wishes to you all from Australia,

My name is Geoffrey . I have been a cat owner since I qualified as a doctor in England. My wife is also a cat lover and we have had Siamese, Burmese and Siamese-Burmese crosses in England and Australia all our married lives.  We emigrated to Australia in 1961, bringing William, our first Siamese, with us.   Our last Siamese, Rupert, died last year. However, our children decided that we should have a new cat and my daughter, who had adopted a cat who was dumped, pregnant, on our vet, arranged for us to adopt Sukie, the only female of the litter.  Sukie, now 15 months old, is Blue and White and is completely different from our pedigrees.  She objects strongly to being moved or picked up.  She has yet to agree to being put on the lap but will now agree to be stroked.

Welcome to TCS.  My first cat was a Siamese.  Very vocal little buggers are they. LOL.  Sounds like you and your wife are pros in the cat world, not new to this world.   Look forward to sharing stories and of course PICTURES with you.  Enjoy the site!!

Hello Drako,

Thank you;  I have posted three photos of Sukie in the 'Hello from Australia' thread starter.  Rupert, our last Siamese is my Avatar. Here are photos of Sukie who was the original for Alice in Wonderland's "Anglo-Saxon attitudes"!  She gets like this at night and takes over the bed.  Currently she sleeps with my wife

Hi, welcome to the site.
It's nice to meet you.  Sukie is quite the beauty.

Thank you.  Yes, Sukie is an attractive cat.  She is almost identical to her mother, both in appearance and behaviour.

Thank you Mani,

Yes Suki's white flash on the nose and thigh boots instead of hind leg shoes are the only difference in appearance from her mother.  Her mother, Polly, was left heavily pregnant on our Vet's counter, the man who brought her making a quick exit.  There must have been a father - but there was no sign of his appearance on any of the four kittens from the litter, Polly must have had dominant genes causing her blue/white appearance with white shirt fronts and white boots.  I know all  about Polly because my daughter adopted her.

Regards,

Geoffrey

Thank you.  We have adjusted to loud cat noises from Siamese cats for over 50 years but Sukie has hardly any meow!  She still sounds like a kitten although she is 16 months old and I have no reason why.  She is completely different in her behaviour as well.     However I am making  progress with picking her up; she allowed me to hold her for a minute now!

No, we are not new to this world but still have a lot to learn; this is one of the fascinating things about cats.

Another photo:  butter would not melt in her mouth!

With kind regards,

Geoffrey
