I have been feeding a feral cat for about a year now. We have grown quite attached to her, and would like to eventually integrate her into our household. We have been taking it slowly because we also

have two indoor cats that seem very upset by this. Also want to make sure this cat is comfortable enough to trust us. She seems like she trusts us a lot more now, but we still can not pick her up, and I

would like to give her 2 medications. Comfortis for her fleas and  Prazaquintal for tape worm. I really don't know how to go about doing this without picking her up. She only eats dry food and appears

very suspicious when anything else is offered. I do not want to alienate her by scaring her to death, but I also don't want to get my face torn off. She has never been aggressive, she sort of fake bites me if

she doesn't see me for a day or two. She gets quite upset and sits by our door howling. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I use reveloution on my ferals. It protects against heart worm, round and whip worms, fleas, ticks and ear mites. It just goes on their neck. For the tape worms we had to trick them with tuna because we only got that in pill form. It took days to get all three done. Ours like us and we can pet them, but we cannot pick them up. They are also very suspicious of new things. We trapped them for their vaccines and the vet gave them wormer the first time. You have to find the right vet that is willing to handle a feral. The way they behave with us is a huge 360 from how they behave with strangers in a carrier.

Has she ever been to a vet?  Is she spayed?  Before you bring her into your home and do introductions to your other cats, it is necessary to have her vet checked.  She will need vaccines as well as tests to be sure she will not make your other cats sick.  I would trap her, take her right to the vet and when you bring her home, take her right to a room of her own that is completely cat proofed.  By this I mean, if there is a bed it in the room it is picked up off the floor or lays flat on the floor.  Under a bed is the first place a cat will run to hide.  Also you need to block off all other large furniture.  Cats can hide in very small places.  I like to get on the floor at a cats level to see where a cat might hide.

As for treatment of fleas, you can use pill pockets to hide tablets or capsules.  They often appear like treats to a cat.  I often offer a few as treats and the cat never knows when the pill is inside.

I think tape worm preparate may be in the drop on form too, as the mentioned Revolution.  I think Bayer has it.

Drontal and Profender is allround for both round worms and tape worms, Droncit is for  for tape worms.   Both should be possible to get as drop on.

Agree with both above. Spay/neuter is a top priority along with testing. My 3 had that done also when trapped.
