My cat has severe food allergies. Only 2 foods seem to work for him:  Natural Balance Wild Boar and Natures Recipe LID Turkey.

I need ideas on what else I can try him on. Any food suggestions must contain either Pork or Turkey as the main ingredient.

Right now he is on dog food with taurine supplemented but this is not working, as he is rather constipated.

I'm thinking of maybe trying  EVO 95% but that has chicken in it. I'm not sure he will tolerate chicken.  But at least it has fewer ingredients than Natural Balance.

Have you tried Nature's Variety Limited Rabbit?

It is a mixture of Rabbit and Pork.

NV used to carry Pork, but I cannot find it now.

Natures Variety is a good brand.

I also use their Pride line of Rabbit for my guy. They have turkey also, in both...

Good luck, hope this helps.

I second any of NV Instinct LID canned foods.

Whole Earth Farms also has a turkey pate that doesn't have chicken. Hounds and Gatos Pork is also free of other proteins.

I also vouch for Nature's Variety! If your cat has food allergies, it's good to stick to simple ingredients and novel, low-allergen meats. Our cat's rotation used to include their Venison and Rabbit, but the NV Instinct venison has way more calories and fat that rabbit, so she only gets the Instinct rabbit canned, raw bites, raw mixer and kibble. She loves food a little too much, and she is extremely happy with NV's rabbit. No more itching and scratching and her coat is so soft and shiny.

You mention feeding Nature's Variety, but also say he is eating dog food. NatureMs Variety does make an LID turkey cat formula, so start there.

Wild Calling would be another brand to consider as they have several single protein formulas.

Nutro Natural Choice turkey formulas contain turkey and pork broth, so this would be something to consider as well.

Merrick's LID turkey formula only contains turkey as well.

Royal Canin has many cans of food out there that contain Pork. I am pretty sure that some Hills Persciption diet has some pork also. And Nuto's max cat has pork broth  also in it

I wish there were more pork based choices out there! It seems to be well tolerated, and cats seem to like it rather well. The Royal Canin renal diet used to come in a pork flavor, years ago. It was a very hot seller-- renal cats are often picky because they don't feel so hot and the renal toxins can affect the appetite. That pork stuff? We couldn't KEEP it on the shelves.

I was syringe feeding my stomatitis kitty and offering baby food for him to try to eat voluntarily. He hates the Hill's a/d so we did the baby food. Tried the chicken and turkey flavors and he hated those. But he DEVOURED the Gerber brand "ham" flavor, which is really just uncured (fresh) ham/pork butt and water. It was like crack to him! Even though he wasn't yet on Bupe (pain reliever), he went loopy for the pork baby food! Ate 2 jars worth by himself straight out of the jars that I held in my hand the first day I tried it and he hadn't been eating much of anything at all up to that point for a couple of days. Now he's on Bupe and paté food-- regular menu choices. But I know he would tear up a pork flavor. He loves "people" ham (I only let him have a teeny sliver) and pork chops (he's allowed a bit more of that as long as I didn't season it heavily or use garlic or onion. He LOVES plain unseasoned grilled or baked pork!)

Here are the Google Shopping results for "pork cat food". Apparently there are more than I thought! I haven't looked into the specifics on any of these-- you know your cat's issues better than we do, so I will leave it to you to determine if a particular food fits your cat's dietary needs, or if there are offending ingredients that your cat shouldn't have. But I see some quality brands here, so you might have some good luck.

Hope this helps.
