You got that right @Rhondalee. My daughters know they can always get me something with cats on it or about cats and I will be happy. I still don't have my cat blanket yet and I've been telling them for years that I wanted one. I guess I'll have to get it for myself.

Hello and welcome to the Site! :wavey:

Just a note abut the rules of this contest -

1. Minimum of 15 words per post. Don't bother with counting words. Just make sure your posts are longer than one line and you should be ok.

2. Proper English. Please don't just hit randomly at your keyboard. No gibberish allowed and as with other posts on the site, try to avoid texting abbreviations.

3. Comprehensible posts. Your posts can be drivel, but they still need to make sense. Avoid using automated text generators. It's a babbling thread, but we still expect you to communicate with your fellow members.

4.Original posts only. Please do not copy and paste text from another source. Not even from this site. Not even if you were the author. Just write something fresh for this thread.

5. No consecutive posts. You can't add a reply if yours is the last post in the thread. If anyone starts talking to themselves to speed things up, they risk getting banned from this thread.

6. To be eligible for any of the prizes you must be over 18 (eighteen) years of age.
Posting a cute kitten pic was a good distraction, but it won't help you win if you don't follow the rules. :D

Thank you, @Moayad Albluwe, they do taste good but they are kind of soft and caakey.  I'm more of a crunchy cookie person.  This makes the 2nd time I have made almond flour cookies.  The first time they turned out like muffins!  I used a different recipe then.

What is the temperature today in Amman?

The cookies look delish. As a plus, you didn't burn them. I agree with you about cookies and baked goods made with almond meal, they just aren't the same. I don't like them after they cool off either. They seem to be a little gritty. kntrygrl256 kntrygrl256 what is the kitty blanket like that you've been hinting for?

@Rhondalee, No I didn't burn them at least lol.  I guess this is about as good as it'll get using almond meal.  And I don't  mind the grittiness because I like the flavor.  I just wish I could get them crunchy.  Perhaps I could add a bit of the gluten-free flour.  I can't stand the rice flour because I don't like rice.  It has no taste.  Back to the drawing board!

There's an awesome recipe for scones from against all grain. I'm not sure if it's on her website or not. I have the cookbook. If you can't find it on her site, and you want the recipe, I'll post it for you.

It's one that is usually around Christmas and it has a couple of tabby kittens on it. I've seen it the last two years and don't have it yet.

Today the weather in Amman is so much bad, its 91f, and what makes it worst is that the weather is full of dust and the air is just like a hair dryer and it's sticky.. it's spring now, at summer it's always above 113f and it usually hits the 122f, and as I'm in a high population area (all buildings here apartment blocks of about 4 floors with 2 apartments atleast on every floor), and a nearby highway makes it so much hot and noisy.
Now there is a sand storm, the power is down (it went down about 5 minutes ago), and the visibility range is less than 10 meters, and the air is hitting the windows so hard that it frightened my kitens, hope it won't take long for the power to come back as the house ventilation system is off, and the air conditions are also off and no lights, it's feeling stuffy inside now..

And for the cookies I'm not that expert in cooking but i know that if you make the cookies thinner they'll be more cruchier (or might get burned)..

Oh no! I hope your power comes back soon. I guess I'll stop complaining about the weather. I could have it much worse.

He is now happily curled up and snoozing away.   He came up for a snuggle in my arms earlier when I sat down on the sofa, then got down on to the sofa and had a long bathing session before curling up for his nap.   He seems to be very happy that we have a comfy sofa again.   It shows off his fur and green eyes nicely unlike the previous 2 sofas I had - they were chosen when I had my tabbies...  How sad am I.

@Moayad Albluwe  , wow 91 degrees already??  Sounds miserable!  As for the cookies, I was going to flatten them a little before I put them in the oven, but the last time I used a recipe similar to this one (but with coconut oil instead of butter) they flattened out almost like pancakes because of the coconut oil but yet they still had that cakey, muffin-like texture.  Yuck!  I figured butter would help retain some shape.   I will make the next batch thinner and see if that helps.  For now I'm putting the rest of the dough in the freezer.  If I make them all, I might eat them all!

Here's the recipe I used @Artiemom  :

1 Cup almond flour

1 Tablespoon almond butter (no salt)

1 egg

1/2 Cup butter

1/4 Cup Honey (next time I'll use between 1/4 and 1/2)

1 Tsp vanilla extract

1 Tsp baking soda

1 Tsp kosher salt (I only used 1/4!)

And finally, 3 ounces chocolate chips.  I use "Enjoy Life" which is soy-free and vegan.

Mix wet ingredients, add to dry.  Bake at 350 for 9 to 10 minutes

There are tons of recipes out there.  I'm not completely satisfied with this one but at least I don't have to throw this batch away!

I now know why yellow squash is cut width-wise instead of length-wise. Cutting yellow squash length-wise is very difficult--you have saw the knife through the seedbed. (AWM wanted a new shape for the squash chips.)

Well, the suspense is now over.  It arrived nicely on time this morning.  I had to put it together which took about 45 minutes (because being stupid I didn't find the instructions until I was nearly finished)!   Mouse wasn't too happy when all the boxes arrived but as soon as he saw what had been in them he settled down and started the take over.  :D

What a day!  I had to go to the DMV this morning.  Now, I live in a very tiny town, and the DMV is about the size of a two-car garage, and is manned by either one or two people.  Today it was just one.  I got there before they opened, and there were two people ahead of me...not bad.  HOWEVER, the lady right ahead of me wanted to socialize to the point that the Examiner finally told her, "We need to wrap this up, I"m getting behind."  She left in a huff.   Got in, got my ID renewed (it expired 3 years ago, and the address was outdated).  Took my picture...OH MY HOLY HEAVENS!  Do I really look like that?  If I do, I'm never going out of the house again.  Actually, considering that I only had about 3 hours of sleep last night, I should have expected it.  And they tell you not to smile, which is not a good look for me.  SIGH.  They did give me my old ID back, though...I love that picture.

We are currently working on picking new flooring for our home. Cat colors are being considered. Angua is easy because black goes with just about anything. Carrot is a bit more complicated with bright orange.

hahahahahahaha. Lololololol. Oh my goodness. You just made my day! Hahahaha. I love it. My cousin just redid her kitchen. The smaller walls are painted black. The larger ones are a faint yellow and the decorations are orange. It looks beautiful. So go for it!

Power is finally back [emoji]128518[/emoji], air conditions are working again and fresh air is back, but the storm is still there, it cracked one of the windows by somekind of a flying cola can.

mservant mservant congrats the new sofa, it looks really comfortable, and the yellow color is just so much energizing!, im pretty sure that you and mouse are so much happy with it, did you take your first nap on it? You must really give it a try.

Mamanyt1953 Mamanyt1953 It's a fact! Photos on ID is never going to look good, i don't know why do they look like this? But I'm pretty sure that they just modified them to look bad and it has nothing related to our real look.

My whole apartment is decorated with kitty in mind.

When I adopted Mouse I had not long painted the sittingroom walls a buttery yellow which was nice with tabby but not great for blue/gray, and the rugs in my hall were brown.  The rug in my sitting room is kind of large and more tying as was a present from my mother, but all the other rugs about the place could be replaced fairly easily so that was what happened first.  (All the floors are sanded floorboards).  I had to take my time more with painting the sitting room, and then buying new furniture as I needed time to budget, but have finally got there.

He is now 5 so it has been a long haul.  Mouse seems to love the new sofa thankfully and is currently snoozing away happily.  He has had a couple of grooming sessions there and had a good explore around the back and running over the nice ledge along the top of the sofa back so I think by tomorrow he will be fully recovered from the stress of all the big boxes and furniture construction today.

@Moayad Albluwe   I am thinking I may have to fall asleap on the sofa this evening while watching TV.
It is a sofa bed after all and it definitely feels comfy enough for a good night's sleep.  My old sofa wasn't long enough to get a good snooze on without a sore back from being all curled up.
