Well I made them. I just used what was in the ****. No paprika but used pepper. Mayo-mustard-a dash of relish for texture and whip it with my fork. It was yummy. I just hate wasting food. One of the guys is going to help me eat 8 eggs. I told him to leave a few for the other guys. I made them in the kitchen and wore gloves but I couldn't get the grip on the egg so I had to go slow. Its harder to cut those suckers in half than I thought, and have to boil the eggs on their sides rather than right side up so the yolk hole is crooked. The mayo makes a big dif. We don't have barbeque chips in the machine only French onion. I wish someone had some paprika but that's ok. The mayo really holds it together. I didn't put too much relish because I worried it would taste like crap. no vinegar either so hopefully the mustard helps. I had to put a squirt of it twice in the bowl to taste it. I should have used more pepper but I didn't want to only taste pepper. oh well its one way to get rid of 8 eggs. and men here will eat anything
We have human seagulls who come flapping along whenever left overs from the office people float down into our break room. I have never seen so much eating as here. one guy is eating every 2 hours. I told him to eat a protein bar to help ward off the hunger and he got ticked off at me.
I just said you wont be so hungry all the time if you had some protein..its funny how some men are..almost girly like.
Just where I work-not all men!!

I'm afraid to know where you got the food from that it actually censored you with the ****!!! hahahaha. I'm so hungry for deviled eggs now. I LOVE deviled eggs. My mom always makes them for my birthday and I gobble those things up. And I spread the leftover yolk mix (since I don't like my deviled eggs to be TOO heaping) on toast - SO GOOD! Kinda like an egg salad sandwich! Only better.

I decided to go to a movie today. Been wanting to see the ID4 sequel pretty much since I heard of its existence. I absolutely loved the first one (yes, a bit hokey, but I didn't care). I can't believe that was 20 years ago, but was so stoked to hear about this one. So, going to the theater in Addison. Probably need to leave at a quarter to 1 as I need to get some gas (it's a 2:10 movie and about 40 minutes away). So freaking stoked. Feel as giddy as the barely-still-teenager I was when the first movie came out.

To make things even better, it's a gorgeous day out. Perfect day for a joy ride. Not hot at all out either (it's in the 60s! :woo: ) so can ride with the a/c off and the windows down!

The only thing I put in my deviled eggs is some good mustard and miracle whip and a bit of salt. Just a dusting of paprika for color. When I take these to a buffet they are the first to go.  I was looking at prebuilt chicken coops and all I could think was they must not account for stray dogs and coyotes. I really miss having the hens in the yard. They are the best insect control. Hopefully new fencing is in the near future. I don't even have to do chicks. Egg farms here retire their layers when they still have years of non commercial laying ability.

I just jumped in to catch up and almost jumped out again. Eggs?  Ugh.  I decided my kids could never question my love for them after I learned how to make scrambled eggs for them!  Actually, I've kind of regretted being such an eggphobe since they are such a terrific food but there it is.  I can't get past it!

Attention to all cat lovers in SoCal. One of the people who belongs to our cat club cannot take care of her cat's  litter box anymore and has asked for help. She has severe back problems and is now on a walker or cane. She has found a few people who will help out with the litter box but she also knows this is not a permanent solution and she will have to give up her beloved tuxedo girl  Bibs who is 12 years old. She is all black with just the white bib, very pretty. Is there anyone out there who can take Bibs or  knows of someone who can? Bibs is healthy but the chance of her finding a home through the shelter is minimal because of her age. Please respond to me via PM so I can give you her phone number.

Has anyone here ever planted a fish under their tomato plants? My mom swears by it and her tomato plant is taller than her. Mine, on the other hand, is only about 8 inches tall. I'm thinking about burying one next to mine tomorrow. Any advice or experience with this fish thing?
GO for it.  When we build The Summit Condominium in Panama City, Florida, we put fish at the bottoms of the holes, and every palm tree grew and thrived.   Most of the places were replacing their palms every other year, but those were still growing strong when I left  some six years later.

I use Chrome by the way. As far as I know, it's the safest browser and I really like it.
Well, to tell the truth, I"m going to Chrome.  FireFox will NOT let me share to FaceBook from any of my favorite sites,  and it keeps asking me to add plug ins, which Edge does not  It just plays stuff for me.  So for now, I'm using FireFox for here, and Edge for everywhere else.  SIGH...maybe Chrome will do both and I can quit running amok.  Dear Goddess, I'm confused!

Okay, just a little bit of a rant here. On Monday, when I came home from work, I put all my stuff on the kitchen table; employee cup, jacket, purse, and paperwork. Between Monday and last night the paperwork vanished. Literally! We've searched everywhere  for it! (I even looked around at work, just in case I left it there, but no!) Problem is, I need the paperwork for my sixty-day review. (Luckily I have a copy of it in my manual--I just need to remember the date I started and get the coworker who coached me to initial what we've already done. Man, work is going to suck  tonight. I spent all of my morning looking for those papers, and every time I sleep I dream about them! I'm going to try to take a nap, but--not hopeful.

Finding hormone free eggs is really the issue IMO. Getting the crap out of good food instead of vilifying  the poor egg. They can be a renewable cheap source of food. 3-4 chickens that have some safe yard to graze can supply more eggs than you can every use. You do not need a rooster, ever. A little bit of scratch or sweet feed keeps them close to home and used to humans. In fact chickens can easily double as pets and egg source. Like older cats. An old hen can become a treasure just for the personality.

I know many people whose chickens are their pets. They like to be picked up and carried around. Yeah just about everyone at work has been selling eggs. i get 2 dozen given   a week, I need to figure out something else with them. The deviled eggs came out good for just having mayo n mustard. the relish gave it an interesting texture. But the paprika gives a nice touch.

Sorry you dont like eggs Margd. Neither does Jon unless they are cooked burned and covered in cheese and ketchup. Me I love them any old way. Nothing better than a fried egg sandwich on toast with lots of butter...yum!

Don't know anyone there, but can she reach out to a professional sitter? Some of them will actually have odds and ends types of services they offer, like cleaning out litter boxes, etc. Not sure what her income is like or if she could afford that kind of thing, but if she can it's worth looking into.

I don't know about getting hormone free eggs, but AWM has a friend with a chicken farm who sometimes gives us eggs (and they're all different colors--from dark brown to light brown, pink, speckled, blue, and green), and I've noticed something about them. The darker brown the eggs are, the better they are to bake with, but I think the blue and green eggs taste the best.

Well, no. Sometimes AWM's friend has problems where, for unknown reasons, the chickens will just stop  producing eggs. No rhyme, no reason, perfectly fine as far as the vet can tell (and he's taken them to several  vets)--they just stop. And, a few months later, they'll start again, sometimes laying two and three at a time. (He's really puzzled about, and worried. He raised each and every one of those chickens from hatchling.)

I've never had chickens as I am a city girl from way back, but sometimes I wish we had a few of them around in the community garden to eat all the slugs, snails, bugs, caterpillars and grubs. When I find them in my plot I toss them out into the street hoping the crows will eat them or that the sun will dry them out where they will die.

We had cats until recently to take care of the rodent population, we actually had a licensed cattery, all the cats were fixed and most of them were friendly. Now the powers that be have decided to get rid of the cats. There has already been an outcry about that by several gardeners. Nobody knows so far why the cats were taken away, most of them had been there for years, smart enough to avoid the coyotes. Without the cats gardeners will lose more produce to the various critters like mice, moles, voles, opossums, raccoons and bunnies. Administrators! The guy they recently hired who also oversees the community gardens had been a professor of ornamental horticulture and is a landscape architect. He may know about about plants but he sure doesn't know anything about vegetable gardening. I hope the outcry will be loud enough that cats will be brought back. i have already lost a few tomatoes that were hanging low and were half eaten and those were not bug bites.

Chickens are super easy to take care of, if you have the right set up. It sucks if you live in the woods though. I've battled numerous hawk attacks and eventually gave mine to a freind after a weasle got to my girls. I miss my chickens terribly. They were so fun and they did become my pets. They all have their own personality. And they are not dumb at all. They are awesome. My advice to anyone that wants chickens is to get a good dog that will protect them. A great pyrinese is awesome at protecting them.

She knows she is only going to get worse and will eventually need to go to a rehab place. This is an age restricted (over 55) community, so while she can still take care of herself  she just needs someone to take care of the litter box as there are also some stairs where she lives and she cannot navigate those with a walker or cane and also a bag with used litter. Some people from the cat club have stepped forward to provide that help for her. So she is now looking for someone who will take her beloved Bibs permanently as she will not be able to take her with her to a rehab facility when it comes to that.

Ah, got it. That's so sad, I can't even imagine being put into that situation. I really feel for this lady, I can't imagine this is easy for her at all.

I am in for the evening. Feels good to be home and just watching TV, with nowhere to go. Think tomorrow I'll go check out washing machines at Best Buy. I need to use my store card soon or it will expire, and we need a new washing machine, so it's a match made in heaven if you ask me.

I think my oldest chicken was over 10. My old rooster was pushing 11 when the neighbors damn dogs got our and slaughtered him.  So they aren't short term commitments. Getting chicks that imprint on you is an option you can go for. Though I found most of the retired girls from egg farms, not commercial ones, were fairly social when brought home.

I spoke to AWM and RB about it, and they recommend that you have a face-to-face with the new manager. AWM says that (after you get a signed petition from everyone who gardens in the plot) that you're willing to accept lots of nonvenomous snakes (since it would take a lot  of snakes to make the same dent as a single cat) instead. (She thinks the cats would come back really  quick after that.) RB says that perhaps he thought the cattery was an eyesore and you'll get further if you do two things: one, offer to make a more aesthetic cattery that fits in with whatever he thinks the "theme" of your garden is (I know you don't have one, but he probably sees one anyway) and point out that vermin attacking the plants ruin the aesthetic of the leaves. Don't know that either of these ideas will work, but that's what they suggest.
Argh. I relate to what you're going through. Hope you get some sleep.

Thanks. I was able to get a little bit of sleep--though not enough to compensate. I just wish I knew what happened to those papers.

Some boarding kennels offer that sort of thing as a service, and there are "assisted care" sites (I used to work for one) where they have someone come in and do what the homeowner just can't do. It's used for people who have been in accidents, are just getting older, or for any number of reasons. I don't know if there are any in your area, but here they run through the hospices (I don't know why).

@Anne It seems that the Microsoft Edge browser was the issue.  I'm on FireFox now and all is well.  I'll be going to Chrome later on, now that I know how to migrate my bookmarks from FireFox.  One step further along in getting C Rex out to pasture!
Awesome news! Thanks for letting me know! After losing the market to other browsers, you'd think Microsoft would learn their lesson and make their browsers more compatible
I use Chrome by the way. As far as I know, it's the safest browser and I really like it.
You're overestimating the intelligence of the executives at Microsoft.  They just had to pay a woman $10,000 after her business computer installed Windows 10 without her permission and slowed down to the point where it became unusable.  She tried to work with Microsoft to revert it to the version of Windows she had before, and they couldn't manage it, so she had to buy a new computer.  Microsoft decided to settle with her because it was cheaper than actually fighting her lawsuit.

Some of those nag messages that Windows puts out advising people to "upgrade" to Win 10 were actually set so that the "x" button that should close the window actually installed Win 10!  Microsoft has admitted that they did that deliberately, but still blames all problems that people have with it on the users, not themselves.  They have, however, at least announced that they won't do that any more, but I suspect that was because their lawyers told them to.
