yes I am feeling pessimistic. Tomorrow the company wants us to go to this mandatory meeting and "fair" for safety stuff-I don't mind mingling but I HATE sitting down. I am seriously thinking about
tomorrow at noontime.

I would go to the gym and spend the afternoon playing with the weights or take a leisurely bikeride. or go home and finish gardening and roast hamburgers on the grill. decisions. decisions. I am often on my feet all day and never sit down. I can't stand sitting in one spot for long. And I just stink at small talk in groups. Anyone here have this problem? If I had a choice of scrubbing floors or sitting and talking-I would be scrubbing.

Not sure what my problem is-just don't want to listen to 3 hours of yacking. I rather cuddle with my cats or dig in my dirt but then I have to use up my precious time off which I only have abit of it left incase something happens. My work adopted a super strict attendance policy and you get fired on your 4th absence. Which is BS. This place most people work 7 days a week some days 10 to 12 hour days-they should give leeway to those who work so many hours. So I don't want to listen to abunch of BS tomorrow. TICKED OFF!

Fabulous news @Tallyollyopia.   I hope the training goes well and you enjoy the work, oh, and very importantly have nice colleagues.

@Rhondalee    Zero cat helpers?   That is weird.
Were they up to serious 'no good' in some other area of your home, knowing that you were otherwise engaged and not likely to catch them?   I think I can count on one finger the number of times I've managed to change a bed without a certain Mouse diving in to assist.
I can't remember if he was fast asleap in another room or getting up to something else equally naughty at the time (bed making in my apartment almost always ends up with Mouse in 'time out').

mservant mservant when I came downstairs from making the bed, they were all in the living room and kitchen. They did look suspicious. I'm not sure what they were up to.

Usually, it doesn't even matter if they are sound asleep. As soon as they hear the sheet, they come running. Hmmmmm.

Thank you, thank you, one and all!
I'm really excited about my new job!

Poor Ra! After Rose and Princess got home from the vet I gave them a treat, and he decided he wanted one too, so he crawled into one of the carriers!

Accidentally damaged some sort of plastic guard on someone's car today. Left the broken piece on their windshield with a note under it. Hopefully it's cheap to replace.

The kicker is that I wasn't in my car when that happened. I was just walking by the car and the piece caught on my bag and broke as I walked by.

Well that's a crazy way to start your day! Did it break or tear your bag at all?

Congratulations @Tallyollyopia we miss you while you are slaving away.

Spent my morning on the phone with my health insurance company and the Hospital.  the Hospital sent me a letter saying my claim was pending and that I should call the insurance company but the ins. company named on the letter wasn't mine!  thankfully it was sent in error.  Not sure how they will figure out who it should have gone to.  It was for $13,000.  I didn't think I'd be able to sleep last night worrying about it.

While I was on hold I dragged the cat tree to the wall Eclipse was meowing at.  Of course that wasn't enough he also had to use me to reach a string he discovered holding some artwork on the wall.  DS had a laugh at me as usual.  He finds my misadventures with the cats, Eclipse especially, amusing.

@Rhondalee  No, the bag's fine. The piece was some sort of accessory that just clips or sits in place. It just snapped before I could even tell something was caught on the bag.

The person actually just called and thankfully they weren't mad. They were even glad that I left the info instead of just not saying anything. The piece isn't expensive (maybe a little steep for a piece of moulded plastic, but what can you do?), so everything worked out!

That's good. That was nice of you to leave your info. There's not many people who would. Someone put a dent in my husbands new pick up 1 week after he got it. They didn't leave a note. It would have been nice to just get an "I'm sorry".

@Rhondalee  Absolutely. I can't believe they would leave a dent and not even say a word! It's not like they didn't notice that they dented the car!

K kisscat they had to have noticed. I'm sure it made some noise when the metal got pushed in. Oh well, at least we weren't harmed.

In other news, we bought the smarty cat, hot pursuit toy for the kitties the other day. They would have a blast with it if Seamus wouldn't jump on it and keep it from moving. The little stinker. He hoards it.

@Tallyollyopia- are your cats indoor/outdoor? Mine don't leave the apartment so they don't get rabies shots (saves money).

Congratulations on the job, that should make it a little easier in the finance department.

@foxxycat-have you checked the labor laws in your state? I don't think it is legal to require people to work 7 days a week. How about overtime, does your company pay that? Do you have a union? Regarding getting fired: it depends on the reason for the absence. Anyone who has lost a job no matter what the reason is, should apply for unemployment benefits, not assume they are not eligible, that is up to the department to decide. Even a person who has quit may be eligible depending on the reason for the quit. Never assume anything, you are usually wrong.

Thank you. And the cat really rules us all. (Except for me: they have to decide which cat is in charge first.

Our cats are indoor/outdoor. The house is way  too small for all five of them elsewise, and they hunt squirrels, rabbits, and probably other things that I have never seen them hunt before--so the rabies vaccination is essential. As is Neosporin, occasionally. (Not often; our babies are good at what they do.

Gee, shame you couldn't get a nice lump sum out of an insurance company but I know what you mean, I couldn't take someone elses money either.
Imagine if they actually sent the cheque to the wrong people!

Loving Eclipse. He sounds kind of like Mouse the way he had to use to as the route to his bit of string.
Hope it wasn't painful for you.

Oh wow, you are so nice and honest.  I've lost count of the number of times people have taken off my wingmirrors or similar when my car's been parked and never left any way to contact so I always have to pay.
I'm glad it isn't too expensive to sort.
.........

  Seamus toy hoarder!
I'd love a photo of that.

Having quite a peaceful evening here for a change.  Mouse hasn't had his evening zoomies yet so things might liven up later, but I'm hoping for an early night so I feel ready for work tomorrow.  I have to try and get out early enough to pay a bill on my way to work.  Always a challenge even though I don't need to be in before noon.

mservant mservant I promise I will take a picture the next time I bring the toy out. It probably won't be until tomorrow, as all the cats are being lazy right now, and we will be heading to bed in a couple of hours. It is pretty funny the way he hoards it. One of these days I'll figure out how to work utube and post a video.
