Oh wow, congratulations @Columbine  it looks like you got the 2000 post T shirt.

I missed all the fun as had to go get some sleep then had a rather long day at work.  I was so tired I had a rest when I got home before I could cope with anything else.  Mouse has been busy making sure I make up for leaving him earlier than usual this morning and without his usual snuggles and biscuit chasing session before I left.   I got called in to work early because a colleague didn't show up for their shift.  Mouse was obviously a bit worried because he didn't eat much at all while I was out and waited until I got home again.  He's fine now but I'm hoping I get extra cuddles from him in a while when I go to bed.

Lots more babbling to do everyone, so lets keep busy  (says me who has to go off to bed very soon).

I have a wonderful friend whowho gave me a whole flat of begonias today. I swore I wasn't going to plant any annuals this year as they need to much watering. I'm getting a really good amount of perennials and that was going to be that!

But it was so nice of my friend to think of me, that I had to plant them. Now when I look at my flower beds, I'm so glad I did, and very thankful, as they really perked it up.

Okay, so I recently got home and Rose seems to be having trouble with her tail. She meows (it actually sounds more like a "yelp") when it's touched, it doesn't seem to moving right, but there's nothing obviously wrong with it either. I know she recently got up from a nap--could she have just slept on it wrong?

That's odd. Could she have fallen when you were away? Do you feel any oddness in the tail at all? Like a sharp curve any where?

No. And even if she had fallen, she was sleeping on my bed which is only a foot and a half off the ground. She would have had to land really  badly for that to have hurt her. And there are no sharp curves anywhere, just  a shallow one. And she can  move the tip of the tail, so I don't think  it's broken. (There are no "spaces" along the tail either, where there seems to be a gap between parts of it.) It just seems tender to the touch. (She wants to go outside, but I'm not letting her with her tail like that.)

Smart move. I'd keep her in too. Does she walk ok? If it is injured, it can affect a lot of different areas, such as the bladder and legs and colon. Definitely keep a close eye on her. May need a trip to the vet.

I had a cat that had a broken tail. But it happened before I got her. She didn't seem to have any problems from it, but I don't know how she was treated for it as she was a stray.

On the train back home now, hoping I don't miss my stop. I think it is still 8 stops away, but still. Not used to taking the train home coming FROM the city.

I like riding trains. Did you have a good time. Seems very early to be heading home?

Tomorrow. We'll begin working on transitioning the cats to World's Best cat litter. Angua has been coughing when she comes out of the box after digging in the clay. I think that the dust is getting to her.

I love riding trains, just hate that my stop and the one before it have almost exactly the same name, and couldn't hear them announcing the names very well. I had a great time today! I don't stay out late too often anymore. Heck, even today felt late. Plus the train only left ever two hours after 6:30 so left where I was at 8:30.

Other than her tail she seems fine. She's used the litterbox (The horror! Our cats usually go outside) and it seemed normal (or at least, what I scooped out was), and now she's curled right back on my bed sleeping.

tallyollyopia tallyollyopia How's your kitty doing today? I hope she's back to normal.

donutte donutte Did you get out of the train at the right stop? I know what you mean when you say you can't hear the announcements for the stop names. All I ever hear is mumbling whenever I take a train. We don't have any where I live. Last time I was on one was in Chicago and it was pretty scary not knowing where I was and not being able to make out the announcements. Same thing happened in DC. I was sure glad I wasn't alone.

It's our youngest granddaughters birthday today. She is 2. So we have a birthday party to go to. It's also my oldest son and wifes 12th Anniversary. But we won't see Tham today as they have plans out of town.

So, we will be driving alot today. We'll go to church this morning, which is 15 miles west of us. Then we will come back home, grab lunch and drive 55 miles east of our house to the birthday party. Then possibly have to drive 56 miles north, to drop off some of our grandchildren at their home, then another 26 miles south to get back to our home. But it will be fun!

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
View media item 352664Honeybee with her haircut

Just puttering at work-playing some Lady GaGa CDs I picked up this weekend. I wish I could find music that's more current but hey I am too cheap to buy full priced. Woke up to the ratt lookalike Honeybee licking my hand-she does this to wake me up. it was getting light out and she wanted to go out and potty. Honeybee's fur is soo short now that she looks like a ratt but a cute one. She looks so tiny! And she is muscular-she is always climbing up on something or springing off my lap to run around. Spring board kitty.

I did, yay :) One of the guys that was checking tickets on the train finally came into our car more than halfway through my trip (yes, there are times people can ride the train for free because a ticket checker never comes in before they get off!). I asked him what stop we were approaching, and he asked me where I was getting off. I told him and he said oh, you have plenty of time. But I wanted to know where we were! Then I told him we couldn't ear any of the announcements. So he started making a separate announcement for our car after that. And apparently I wasn't the only one that was worried about missing my stop! The one girl had actually gotten on a train going in the wrong direction originally. Now that she was going in the right direction, she wanted to get off at the right stop!

So, today there are two things going on. There's the Kitty Summer Social at the cat shelter I support (and whose other events I've gone to this year). And then there is some other thing that a friend invited me to to help support keeping their parks from being turned into a parking lot for the local university there. And they are almost exactly at the same time. I'd already been planning on the Kitty Summer Social for some time now so not sure I want to change my mind on that. It's probably gonna be very similar to the Felines and Valentines event I went to, which was SO much fun! And even though the event my friend invited me to says "Ice Cream Social" he couldn't guarantee there'd be ice cream!

I am going to do a full clean of the litter boxes today. Then we'll see how the cats like World's Best cat litter. And how we like it too of course.

She's not quite back to normal yet, but she looks a lot better today than she did last night. I'm (hoping) this means that she just slept on it wrong and will be all better tomorrow.

In other news, something adorable happened with Asia last night. See, yesterday a wasp got into the house and AWM and RB killed it--with lots of bug spray. (I had to throw all the food that was down away, and put the bowls--food and water--in the sink for cleaning.) So, I got down new bowls, put them on the table, and cleaned the floor. Asia came up and meowed at me, but then went to lick the floor--and I couldn't allow that. So I picked her up and put her on the table where she set to eating and drinking at will--and thought no more of it. Later last night she came up to me rubbing against me and even bestowed upon me a lick! (Asia doesn't really like being pet much, and never licks people.) It took me a moment to figure out what she wanted. She wanted me to put the bowls of food and water on the table--now she thinks it's her  spot. (One of the boy kitties tried to get on the table with her and she pushed him off!) So, long story short: I know have a bowl of food and water on the table, as well as bowls of food and water on the floor. (I know I should be annoyed, but I find it so darn cute!)
