Hi all,

I been having a hard time getting my cat to eat wet, tried countless brands, finally found something he likes, but to get him to finish it I been adding a couple of chicken formula freeze dried pellets.

Nikolai had bladder problem which is why I took him off dry food, I'm wondering if topping off his wet food with these pellets is going to do him harm in the long run.

I hope I'm just being paranoid, as he totally devours whats left on his plate after adding these.

The top ingredients for these pellets are: Chicken(including ground chicken bone), turkey liver, turkey heart, pumpkin seeds, apples, carrots, butternut squash, ground flax seed, montmorillonite clay, salt, minerals...

Any input is appreciated

I wouldn't have thought those would cause a problem. If you're worried about feeding them, then Purebites could be a good alternative. They're just freeze dried meat, and most cats love them. They crumble up really well too. Another easy topper is FortiFlora. This can work wonders for cats who are missing dry food, as the primary ingredient is animal digest - the same stuff that most kibble is coated in to make it appetising. You don't need to feed the recommended quantity as you want it for its flavour, rather than the probiotics it contains.

There's nothing wrong with using the freeze dried pellets you describe - I'm simply giving you some extra options ;)

The single biggest thing you can do to ensure bladder health is to make sure Nikolai gets plenty of water. Wet food is fantastic, but Tips to Increase Your Cat’s Water Intake]this article has loads of other ideas too :)

I'll def look into the purebites, I've already tried the fortiflora and that wasn't always a guarantee he'd eat his wet food.

Cheers!
