We often talk about cat quirks on here and there are quite a few threads dedicated to it. Turning the tables today -

What is one of your own quirks?

I have sock issues.

I have many different types of socks.

- athletic socks

- around the house socks

- bed socks, which are the fluffiest and best socks. When they get old and not as fluffy, they are demoted to around the house socks. Bed socks are never to be worn around the house and are taken off as soon as I wake up and are switched to around the house socks.

- black socks to wear with shoes

Once it gets hot, I usually don't wear socks again until Fall, other than athletic socks for when I wear my sneakers.

I have a bit of a sock fetish too :bigwink:

I have :-

  • Fluffy bed socks
    Slipper socks
    Warm socks
    Cooler socks
    Knee high socks
    Thigh high socks
    Grippy toe socks (for yoga)
    Longer ankle socks
    Shorter ankle socks
    Trainer socks
And, of course, lots and lots of CAT socks :heart3: (see my review here ;) )

Okay, here's a quirk of my own. I have to use the same few forks, spoons and knives when I eat. No other cutlery will do!

...with the cats...
i'd have to say my biggest quirk is that i don't wear outdoors shoes indoors, and wear only flip flops or slippers indoors. i don't like grass, dirt, or other debris tracked into my home. and i'll ask guests, including repairmen, to remove their shoes before entering my home. with repairmen, it's a 50/50 chance they'll remove their shoes. many times they put those thin disposable booties over their shoes, which water/snow gunk just runs right through and onto my floors.

I have quite a few odd ball quirks... chances are I have un-diagnosed O.C.D.

I can not empty clothes out of the washing machine OR dryer unless I spin it (the inside of the machine) around a few time by hand (I do this after all the clothes are out). There were a few times our machine broke and I had to go to the laundry mat... and yeah I had to do it there too.

When I lock my car I need to pull on all 4 doors after wards.

When I leave my table I have to look under it... 3 times

Most of my quirks seem to be just weird ways I double check myself

I now how that OCD thing goes.  Mine is milder...although it touches on more things, maybe...I canNOT eat colored candies such as M&Ms and Skittles unless I first sort the candies by color, and then I eat them in a certain order.  Skittles: purple, orange, yellow, red, green, blue.  M&Ms: brown, orange, yellow, red, green.  I never leave a cabinet door opened.  I won't sit down to eat until all of the prep dishes, pots and pans are washed.  I only stir food clockwise.  I eat each food on a plate in order, I don't go from one to another and back again.  There's a BUNCH of others...

I have tons of quirks but none come easily to mind for some reason.

Here's one that comes to mind. I hate having multiple foods on my plate. I might put two different things at home, but anything else goes in another dish. If I'm at a buffet though, everything gets its own dish. Can't have my food polluting my other food!

The funny thing - my youngest nephew is the exact same way.

I've got a serious quirk about symmetry. Everything had to be arranged symmetrically or it looks really ugly and unbalanced to me. Books have to be arranged on the bookshelf in descending size order, with the tallest book on the right. There has to be exactly the same amount of space between one dish and the next when I put all the cats food bowls out. The cushions on the couch and the pillows on the bed have to have the same number on each side and be evenly spaced too.

I think this comes from years of doing ceramics. When you're throwing on the wheel a pot should be perfectly round and symmetrical. I've obviously trained my eye and carried this over into my daily life.
