Hi I'm new to this and a first time nanny to kittens :)
The kittens are a week old today and bow won't stop moving them. She has opened the draw under my daughters bed and they are all currently under there but not all in one place.... Is this normal?

All of the kittens need to be in the same place and with mom. They can't maintain their body temperature until they are 3-weeks-old.

It is normal for mom to move the kittens if they don't like their nest. She is looking for a secluded space that is quiet and dark. Can you make some alternate nests for her? A box in a closet that is somewhat open is a great option.

Do you plan to have mom spayed when this litter is weaned?

What cute kittens!

Kittens might begin to wean around 4 weeks but most sometime between 4 -6 weeks.  When they begin to show an interest in mom's food is a good time to put out a  dish of kitten pate mixed with KMR or water to make a slush that they can lap up.  It will be messy. Not all the kittens will wean at the same time and they will still nurse from mom for a couple of weeks.  Litter box training begins around the same time because the solid food changes the texture and solidness of their poop.  You can use some low sided boxes or disposable baking pans w/low sides for their first litter boxes.  Be sure to use non-clumping litter or fine sand in the boxes.

The kittens are precious.

How is mom? Are you able to keep her inside and away from intact males until she can be spayed? She can already get pregnant again.

Advantage II is definitely safe for nursing moms. Is her spay coming up? How's everyone doing?
