Adopted my now 7 yr old cat when she was 2 months . she was tested + for FIV and since her adoption hasn't had a spell, just about 2 weeks ago her health has gotten bad , 1 week ago i took her to vet he said its possible she may have FIP. Since her being sick the 2 weeks she has gradually lost appetite to no appetite and no drinking water. Vet gave her medications, obtrax , neutrical and tansfor factor . i took her this monday for recheck since he said he is dehydrated she seems to drink off and on. But no much. She will not eat. I was thankful vet didnt charge. I have been crying so much as she is pretty much my child . please any advice would help. Should i get a second opinion? Should i try feed her myself?

How long has she not been eating?  If it's more than a day, you absolutely need to start force feeding.  Otherwise, she is at risk for fatty liver disease, which is incredibly dangerous.  Ask the vet for high-calorie paste or canned AD food.  Both can easily be syringed.  She needs food asap!

Yikes! She is in serious, serious danger. You need to start force feeding her food watered down so it can be syringed. Do this every two hours for now, a little at a time. If she doesn't get food immediately she's not going to make it.

Nutrical is a high-calorie paste. You can definitely give that to her as well. Why hasn't your vet been saying to feed her?!

YES

Every hour or two give her as much as you can.

Will hopefully be taking her to a different vet tmrw. Shes peeing a little bit more but im not sure if its because of the iv fluids that were given to her. She is taking in the baby food but i am still worried as far as the no drinking and her being bloated still.

Please any input would be great,

How is her breathing? When a cat has trouble breathing, has fluid around her lungs, she can't eat so doesn't want to. My girl had a lessened appetite and her breathing was strange... Turned out she had congestive heart failure (CHF). It's very common in cats. I do hope that's not the case, for your sake, and if her breathing is totally normal then it's probably not - but I'd recommend asking about it. There are a couple threads on here about CHF - it's super common in cats, sadly - if you need some support. [emoji]128149[/emoji] Best of luck.
