Hello.

I'm having a big problem with all 4 of my feline family members. Our two females and two males are all pretty underweight. We started noticing a few weeks ago their weight was a problem and started to give them 2 cans of wet cat food a day, once in the morning and once at night. They always have their kibbles available to them and we fill it back up pretty often. Clean water is always available.  My whole family loves them and they have become a part of the family. My two older cats, Scooter ( a female) and Sunny (a male), are the thinnest. Our younger cat Cooper (a male) is getting thin as well. We don't know exactly why this is happening, or else I wouldn't be on here, but we believe it's the food they have currently. They've been fed 9 Lives Plus Care a long time since Sunny almost died from urinary tract crystals. The vet said that he needed to be kept on a urinary tract formula food, which is what the 9 Lives is. But they're all losing weight drastically.

We also have our youngest female cat, Lollipop, who lost one eye during a cat-fight gone wrong, brought to you by another cat, but that was a long long time ago. She adjusted pretty well. I don't know if that's relevant information but yeah...

If someone could please, please help our feline family members out, I would highly, highly appreciate it. We're in dire need of help before other health problems arise.

Thank you so much.

Have they been to the vet or been wormed recently for all types of worms? I'm guessing they all have a parasite so their body is not absorbing nutrients like it should.

Dramatic weight loss isn't good for cats, I'd call the vet and schedule an appointment ASAP. They'll probably have you bring in a fecal sample.

It's pretty unusual for cats to be underweight unless there's a health problem or they simply aren't being fed. Since they've had food available, have the vet take a look to rule out a health problem.

9 Lives isn't a high-quality cat food but it shouldn't be causing weight loss!

Hello everyone.

My feline family members and I all want to personally thank you for replying!

I will take them to the vet as soon as I possibly can. It's a terrifying thought that they may have a parasite...I will also upgrade their food to better quality food and food that is higher in real meats, and has a lot of protein and vitamins.

Again, thank you all so  much!
