My 12 year old cat/companion has been recently diagnose with death and prescribed murder. Excuse the grim wording. Things aren't looking so bright atm. I'm just wondering what the cold is he's experiencing in his right eye and right nostril, just around the cancerous tumor he has in his upper right gum. He just had most of his teeth removed and the tumor looked at. They hoped it was just growth. But now it's grown. Just curious if the cold on the right side is coincidental or if the tumor has something to do with it. It slipped my mind to ask the doc when I was with her about this cold. Figured I'd ask the community. Lots of sneezing and mucus

I'm so sorry to hear that they found a cancerous tumor
.  It's very possible what is happening to his nose and eye are directly related to the tumor, but impossible for us to say for sure.  This is definitely something your Vet  should be able to tell you.  Why not give them a call and ask?

Have they referred you to an oncologist, or do they say there is no reason to...no way to treat
?

Thanks. I'm hoping the infection is making the tumor look worse. That if we can look at it better maybe it's worth a shot to cut it out. If my doc is wrong in betting it's grown into the bone.

He's a very special cat. He's a special friend to me. I never knew when I picked him up 12 years ago what I was ending up with. Great sweet loving harmless silly guy.

Cats do have a way of capturing our hearts!

In the meantime, HAVE you been referred to an oncologist?  I guess you really need to confirm whether or not this is cancer, and then decide on treatment, or not.  You seem to think he has some sort of infection, but not sure why you think that based on your initial question about the sneezing and watery eye.  Is he on any meds for a cold or infection, or ANYTHING, since you were just at the Vet?  Im guessing since he just had several teeth removed that he's at least on an antibiotic?  And possibly pain meds?

He was given antibiotics after his teeth pulled. I've been trying to get him to stop bleeding, just by attention and prayer. Worked for almost 24 hrs. Just a moment ago some blood fell to his chin. I will take him to a specialist very soon. Last vet. If they can't do anything I will just say good bye

Is he bleeding from having his teeth pulled?  Did you notify your Vet that he was still bleeding after you got him home.  This is NOT normal after tooth extraction.

Yes, and she thought it was time to put him to sleep. I'm actually in the waiting room now of a "specialist" they referred me to when I want happy with the my vet's reaction. So if these specialists don't even want to x-ray him if not try to cut some of the tumor out then I guess it's time to say goodbye. Which is a shame. He's otherwise a healthy cat. But I guess how a lot of us are taken
