The obvious answer would probably be filtered water I use that up super quick though (pur doesn't last long at all) wondering if tap would be super bad.

I assume you mean in the cat's water dish or fountain?? I use bottled spring water or water that comes from a Pur water pitcher that has been filtered.

I have this one:

I was taking gallon jugs to the Culligan machine in Wal Mart but those are a pain and I hate Wal Mart. I try to figure out a way to avoid that place at all costs. I get the spring water in gallons from Publix- our local grocery chain here in Florida/Southeast US. The cats (and dog) like the spring water and the filtered water equally. I don't give them water straight from the tap. We have hard water here. I guess it would depend on the quality of the tap water where you live.

I think the sink attachment will help you out more cause it claims to do 100 gallons vs the pitcher only does 40. The only reason why I can't do bottled water is because I'm disabled with no car in the city so I don't see that happening. I thought my sink filters were supposed to last 3 months but it's only lasting like two. Or maybe that's normal. Idk. I can't even buy the filters on Amazon if I see it 5 bucks less on eBay I'll get that instead lol

the sink attachments don't work on the faucet I have so I went with the pitcher.

I'm jealous you live in Florida though cause ((((for the most part)))) everything costs less. My friend who lives in Jacksonville choked on her water when I told her cat adoption was $150. :(

It's all relative though. We also make less. When I went to adopt Lilith (and ended up with Sophie too), the Humane Society was running a deal on cat adoption fees for $40.00 When I went to fill out the paperwork to adopt them, they said that the girls were "patron pets" and were $175.00 each. I had a copy of their flyer in my hand and asked the woman to show me where it said, "exclusions apply" or "Patron Pets not included" or something like that but she couldn't so she gave me a BOGO deal on them. This was after she told me how surprised she was that I wanted Sophie since she was "unfriendly" and "none of the staff or volunteers could bond with her". I will not go to them for any other animals. Henry came from a local no kill shelter that runs solely on donations. My next cat will be from them as well.

I will continue to support no kill shelters especially since chewy already gave me 4 return refunds and told me to go donate instead of shipping it back though. Like holy crap I never heard of a company that cares that much.

I use regular tap water, no filter.

If you live in an area that has water with a very high mineral content or of questionable quality, you may want to filter and / or boil the water first or buy bottled water to give to the cat.

The San Diego animal shelter was and probably still is over run with felines. So much so they had $5 adoptions, and if you wanted a second it was free. Both came neutered and spayed, had rabies shots, micro chipped, and check ups before leaving. Of course I spent a lot of money since the adoptions in October, but Rayna & Rhett are sweet as can be.

I wish all the animals in shelters have it as good as my furry babies.

I purchase spring water for 99 cents a gallon at the local supermarket for drinking, & their fountain.

I'll stick to filtered water because my apartment is so old. Like radiator is so loud it annoys me when I watch tv old. No wonder my filters die out fast.

We live in the mountains of North Carolina so our well water is naturally pretty clean, but we use a brita faucet filter, it works wonders and makes things quick and easy. We also have a Pur water pitcher but to me it's a pain and my dad is really the only one that uses it.

Kat0121 Kat0121 Haha it's the opposite here, the city water smells gross and even has a weird taste! We have a spring down the road from here where you can actually drink straight out of the ground!
