This morning I said one last goodbye to my beautiful little girl.

I made a long thread in cat health, if you are curious you can see the story there. It ends badly, so if you don't want to be depressed stay clear. I am posting here to make me feel like someone else, anyone else might think about her a little, so she doesn't fade from the universe quite so quickly.

Thank you again to all those who shared life with me there.

I dug a hole in a soft sunny spot surrounded by rhododendrons and trees full of birds.

Sleep well, my beautiful little girl.

I'm so very sorry for your loss.  I can't imagine losing a beloved pet after so many years together.  She has a beautiful resting place.  RIP, little Kicia.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your Kicia.  It's comforting to know that someone loved and cherished her for so long, and still does.  It makes me feel good to know there are people like you in the world.  Bless you.

Sorry for your loss dude! No one could ask for a quarter of a century with such a beautiful kitty! You were truly blessed!

She actually looked like she was in the same breed as my GiGi & Romeo, who both recently passed at 19 years old and within four months of each other! What I wouldn't give to spend another day with them both! But just remember what we had and that overshadows the negative part at the end, no? In any event, you remain in our thoughts and prayers!

That looks like a lovely spot.

One of the things that might help is keeping a little area in your home with something of hers as a memory. As an example, Hazel the cat loved those rainbow balls that sort of bounce and are light enough to carry. I kept one and will always have it.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  Kicia was a beautiful senior kitty and you were very lucky to have her for so many years.  Despite your warning, I read her thread, and tears are now streaming down my face. So sorry for the way things ended.  Take care of yourself.  Rest in Peace, sweet Kicia.

I answered your other post but wanted you to know I truly love your sentiment about thinking about her to make sure she doesn't fade away so quickly in this world, it is truly inspiring and so beautiful. I'll definitely think of that sweet girl now and in teh future, she deserves that and so much more. RIP sweet Kicia.

I had read the other thread but didn't make it before it was locked.
I wanted to say that you don't need to make yourself feel like someone else cares because here MANY people care. What a beautiful girl and a perfect resting place for her.
RIP pretty Kicia. ♡♡♡

Your words fade from the universe so quickly hit home. These precious beings often known only to their guardians that are so special and unique. Please post some pictures of her alive so that remains the memory of her not just the beautiful spot you created for her now.

Wow. I'm blown away. You folks are awesome. Thank you all so much for taking the time and energy to help me. And help me you have.

Thank you for letting me deal with this with my dignity in tact.

Here she is a few days before this all started. All she ever wanted was to be with me.

Again, thank you all so much.

I just want to say that I am so very sorry for your sweet Kicia.

I read both your threads and I did cry while doing that. Thank you for posting her photos, she was so sweet, and reminds me so much of two of my kitties who left me in the past and I still remember very well the anguish in seeing them get emaciated and the feeling that the end was near, the horrible realization of not being able to do anything to help them and the pain when it happened. For one of them I had to call the vet and I am grateful that the other one went on her own, like your little Kicia.

I know what you must feel now, just think, like many others told you, that you gave her a beautiful life, that she was happy and that she lived for so long precisely because you gave her love and took care of her in the best possible way. I'm sure she loved you very much.

You found a beautiful spot for her (the woods in PA are beautiful) and you can go and visit her: I did it with my kitties, before moving to another state and it did help me.

All my sincere sympathy.

I'm so sorry again for your loss. 25 years is such a long time to have a kitty in your life, but it could be 50 years and still not seem long enough. My heart goes out to you. I hope one day you can find it in your heart to share it with another soul looking for a person to call his/her own. You seem to have so much love to share.

I think the hardest image is the last one of our pets. And I'll be honest. Finding your pet dead, holding them while the vet gives the gentle release from life. Man it sticks with you either way.

Having watched my bestest buddy an Arab mare be put down it took a long time to get that image to the back of my memories. I remember the second Kitten went limp. So the Image of Kicia in her final moments is going to keep rearing it's ugly head. I have had to tell myself out loud to stop it. Don't go there.

It appears she had a beautiful long life where she was loved and cherished. Like Kicia , Kitten was loved every day of her life. her illness was brief. Because feelings go somewhere and you want to keep your grief private I hope you take advantage of the ASPCA hotline 1-877-474-3310 and get someone to talk to.

And my husband sobbed right along with me and he shared at work with all his manly man workmates. And has gotten nothing but support.

I'm very sorry for your loss of Kicia. Our furry companions play such a big role in our lives that they can feel quite empty when they're gone. After 25 years, it must feel like the end of an era to you. RIP, sweet Kicia. :rbheart:

I am so very sorry.  In time all the good memories will outweigh the memory of her death.  Try to be kind to yourself, you obviously loved and care for Kicia because she had a long healthy life.

So sorry for your loss. Kicia, a very pretty kitty!

This exactly how we feel about our Morris, whom I still miss everyday.

We planted a tree and placed his ashes in the hole so that we would know he was "part" of the living tree.

We also attached a small brass name plaque on the tree so that even after "we" were gone, people would know that was Morris's tree and he was very loved

Kicia RIP

putting a little solar light near her so that she will always have moths to chase. Dude, that is the single coolest thing I have ever heard anyone do for their cat. Ever. You must have had, always will have such a strong bond with her. I know the end was painful for you, but her pain is now over. Now you have to take care of yourself. She'll be watching to make sure you do. As long as you remember her, she will never fade from this universe. She'll always be part of you, and who you are, because you cannot bond with a cat for that length of time and not be a different person for it. Remember that.
