Good morning.

Do you like potatoes? What is your favourite way to cook them?

I'm thinking of planting a couple of rows of potatoes this year. I tried last year but we had a really heavy monsoon and the spuds didn't like that at all. I think I harvested about half the amount I planted.

I love mashed potatoes with a little bit of salt and butter. Another favourite is jacket potatoes wrapped in foil with a dollop of mayonnaise.

How about you, how do you eat your spuds?

I'm not a huge fan of potatoes, but I will eat a baked potato topped with sour cream, cheddar cheese, and chopped bacon.

We really like potatoes and will eat them in many ways.

I dearly love a good potato salad. But Rick and I will often share a twice-baked potato. Good stuff.

We tried planting potatoes last year, too, but they didn't do well. We got a few, but not many.

Love potatoes here also.

I love making homemade french fries.  So much better than frozen but I don't do it too often.

We enjoy them baked also, I lightly oil the skins and sprinkle with some salt.  It makes the skin really crispy which we prefer.  I'm happy with just butter but a bit of sour cream with some fresh chives in it is a nice treat too!

I'm not big on potatoes, but mum loves them - mashed with sour cream and butter, baked with butter and mayo or cheese, boiled new potatoes (with mint in the cooking water) and butter, homemade English chips, roasted with a little honey, cold leftover potatoes sliced and sautéed...you name it, she likes it :lol3: She eats potatoes virtually every day.

If I'm having one, it'll be plain 'baked' in the microwave with salt and pepper. Very boring  ;)

Potato pancakes with sour cream

roasted potatoes

It just seems as if I always have to have a potato with my supper...strange

I just wrap in foil and bake until soft.....add some salt and pepper, butter....delicious

I would rather have a sweet potato. But hubby likes baked potato with butter and sour cream so I make that for him. With certain foods, I want mashed potatoes with gravy so I make that sometimes. My favorite way to eat them is potato salad made with eggs, a certain sweet pickle that is homemade, onions, salt and pepper. The only mayonnaise that will do for me is Kraft, the real stuff. :lol3:

We eat a lot of potatoes in my house. Jon loves backed sliced scallop potatoes. I use cream of chicken and add water then layer the chips and sprinkle cheddar cheese inbetween layers. we bake them for 2 hours=they get nice and burnt on top with the cheese :)

Mashed potato-butter and salt of course. pepper too. sometimes sour cream.

French fries=I could eat these all day long. with sweet barbecue sauce-or tator tots. anything.

hash browns in the frying pan with onions and garlic then crispy until add ketchup.

So many ways to make them.

Potato in some form or another was a side dish at every single meal during my childhood. I've had more than a life time's worth.

I hate mashed potatoes and potato salad.
I'm not big on baked potatoes.
I do enjoy some sliced roasted potatoes with spices and drizzled with olive oil.
I love sweet potatoes in any form.

I love potatoes.

Baked with Smart Balance margarine, salt and pepper. Best if the skin is crisp.

Home fries with half red potatoes, half sweet potatoes, onions and fresh jalapenos and then topped with a touch of kosher salt. Creamy, crispy, sweet, salty, spicy awesomeness.

mashed

pierogies

knishes

hash browns

fries (MUST be crispy)

chips. Lay's classic are a favorite

Grandma's potato salad. The only one my dad would eat and DH's favorite as well. I still make it but with vegan mayo and it's still awesome. It's simplicity is why it's so good. I've brought it to countless potlucks and everyone loves it. Potatoes, celery, onion, mayo, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper. That's it. It needs nothing else.

I'm half Lithuanian. Do I like potatoes? Omg, yes!

I like potatoes pretty much any way I can get them. Baked potatoes, au gratin, potato salad (yes, I saw that crowd fund page!), vodka (ha!), etc etc. There's also this Lithuanian dish called kugelis. I guess it roughly translates to "potato pudding". Grated potatoes, grated onions, and bacon (grease included) are the main ingredients. Then you bake it. Add some sour cream and YUM! My favorite Lithuanian restaurant adds cranberry sauce also, which is particularly good. My mom likes to take day-old kugelis and fry it in butter. Omg, delightful. Horrible for you, but delightful :lol3:

I love potatoes.  The two favorites are au gratin and baked with chives.  Mashed used to be my favorite but my family is in love with them and everytime we get together (and it is a lot we are Irish) they force me to make ten or so pounds of mashed potatoes.  I still make them but now i wont eat any.  LOL.

I love potatoes.  How I like them depends on what I am having them with.

Mashed with fried chicken or meatloaf.

Cooked with chuck roast.

French fries with burgers

Baked with a steak

Potato salad with picnic type foods or barbecue.  I also want the slaw with barbecue.

Home fries as part of  a big everything breakfast meal.  That''s something I usually do for an early dinner rather than breakfast.

@Inanna  I used to feel the same way, Growing up in the UK it was potato with everything. I was so relieved when I got to Japan and found that people don't eat them as much and that there were all these other vegetables to choose from. I don't think I ate a single potato for the first five years I was here.

@Winchester  @Jenny82  What's a twice baked potato?

@gothikitten  My sister loves mashed potato too. She had it on the menu at her wedding dinner. Mashed potato served in cocktail glasses with a choice of toppings.

A twice baked potato is when you bake a potato once, and then you scoop out the inside and mix it with other ingredients (milk etc) and then put it back and bake it again. So yummy!
