Hi has anyone got any tips or advice concerning my beautiful big 2 year old boy cat, Bear. I believe he was hit by a car. He was missing for 2 days/nights. He never misses breakfast if he go's out at night. But he ended up missing 2 breakfasts and 2 dinner times! I was worried sick about him I went out looking for him and calling him between work and sleep. He finally managed to drag himself home by early Wednesday morning. We was all elated with his return!! But I could tell pretty much straight away he had damaged his back leg. I immediatley took him to the vets. They gave him pain relief and observed him for possibly internal injuries for 24 hours he was X-Rayed next morning, he has broke his left back tibia in 2 places. They are clean breaks which they say is better. He come home yesterday afternoon with a bandage and splint and anti inflammatory medicine.
The Advice I really want is now I have him home he's having cage rest, but he seems so down and depressed. I'm doing all the obvious, like petting him scratching his head and under his chin when I'm with him, he loves that but how can I keep him happy (as possible after having such a terrible accident) while I'm at work? How can I get him to try and use his litter tray again? as he's used to going outside.. He's urinated on himself a couple of times now. Which I clean up straight away but I know it upsets him so much [emoji]128575[/emoji]
Any advice for the aftercare of a broken leg would be very much appreciated [emoji]128571[/emoji]
