My cat (precious) had a kitten 2 days ago. Yesterday we took her to the vet and they gave her a shot to put her in labor since she still had kittens in her. The shot worked 4 hours later and she had another kitten but it wasn't alive. And her tummy was still big and today it still is and its hard . This morning she was feeding her 1 baby but her stomach was still hard and she looks like she doesn't feel good. She got up to get a drink of water but she just stands over it and doesn't drink it. She won't clean her baby or herself and her stomach is big and I'm afraid there's still a kitten inside what do I do?

I'd probably be inclined to speak to the vet. If you do think there is a kitten still inside and 2 days since the start of active labour. There will be a significant risk of infection to both kitten & queen. Hope she is ok.
Have you weighed kitten to see if they're gaining weight? Xx

Depending on what days mom mated, she can actually safely deliver kittens several days apart. It's generally best to let things happen naturally, but at this point, your cat needs an x-ray or ultrasound to see if there are more kittens and if they are alive.

If she's not cleaning her kitten you must get a warm, damp cloth and do it for her. Is she nursing her kitten? If not, the kitten needs to be supplemented immediately with a syringe, and kitten milk replacer (KMR). Let us know what's happening! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Normally I'd say wait, but if she's acting strange you don't want to delay in these situations. The fact that the next kitten was stillborn worries me. Call your vet and see what they advise.

How its going?

With the kitten - with the mom?

I saw this post firstly now, and my reaction is as precedessors.

1. Mom seems unwell, so necessary to contact your vet again asap.     If she were OK, you could wait, but she isnt OK.

2.  If she doenstn take care of the kitten(s), you must do it, including the self feeding with kmr or goats milk.   HOW to do it may be next question

Is mom pushing? As soon as you can you need to help by GENTLY pulling on the kitten's shoulders - not head. Is the kitten breathing?

I'm hoping that the kitten has been born by now... if not that is the only option and needs to be done now before issues arise with the kitten from the pressure that is on them in the birth canal.

But once the kitten if free do not continue to pull to try to get the placenta out.

You need to get your cat to a vet ASAP regardless. The mom's life is in danger! This baby needs to come out. Please take her to a vet and ask for help. They will work something out with you!

What are you going to do? Mom cat cannot go on like this. She can die.

I'm sorry this is happening. I hope mom will be okay soon! Take her live kitten with you to the vet.

I'll look for your update soon!

Glad you got the kitten out. I am trying to ascertain if mom was at all hurt in the process. Can you please explain how you got the kitten out? Did the placenta pass? Do you think she has more?
