I need help! My one yr old siamese is pregnant, this is my first time ever having kittens. I have doing as much research as possible. I think her water just broke approx. 3 hours ago shes just been cleaning herself ALOT, sleeping and pacing around. Any advice and tips would help and be greatly appreciated. So far i have thw basics down, on the care when kittens come out and care of my kitty lily. But how do i know when shes in labor? Ive been having a really hard time getting her to nest in her comfy box i made for her labour, is there any tricks on how to get her to nest in there? I have a few pictures of her. And ill post more of her from today sense her belly dropped. But im really worried, excited, scared and impatient.

She may not like it, it's not secluded enough, or she's waiting until the last minute. If her water broke, she's in labor. When her tummy tightens and releases, her back legs may shake, those are the contractions you're looking for. Best of luck to you and your Queen. Someone with much more knowledge will be along here in a moment. Please ask any questions you have! And deep breaths. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Also labor can take a long time before she's ready to push. Once she starts pushing you don't want her to actively push for more than a half hour or so. But again, deep breaths.

Thank you for the advice. Yeah i can tell shes having a bit of contractions right now her contractions are about 15-20mins apart do you know or anyone else know how long contractions usually last right before babies come out. And ive been trying every possible place other than my bed (where shes been nesting) but she wont budge.

Is there any big amount of liquid that comes out before water breaks? Or is that the water broke, thats why i said i think her water broke because when i went into the kitchen to get something and left she stayed in the kitchen normally she follows me everywhere so i went back to check on her and there was a puddle of slippy gooey stuff that had no smell to it on the floor right next to her.

It was about a cup full if not more. The way i could describe it is gooey oil like water like.

My advice is to try to be calm, she needs you to be calm. And just stay near if she'll let you. Tummy rubs can help her, but only if she wants you to.

Many cats don't go into their nests until right when they deliver. I wouldn't worry about that piece. Just make sure she has a few options in dark, secluded spaces where she feels comfortable.

Contractions will get much closer together before she pushes.

Did you breed her on purpose? How old is she?

Shes still being active but definitely not herself. Shes breathing heavily but not panting and really jumpy, she lays down but then gets right back up, all day today she was cleaning her downstairs and tail, sitting in a potty like position alot, and everywhere she sits she gets up and licks/cleans the floor where she sat.

It sounds like it was her water breaking. She's on her way to delivering kittens soon, but the contractions need to be closer together. It could go fast, or take hours. If you want to protect your bed, spread out some old towels in case she does not get in her nest.

Stay calm, and things should progress just fine. [emoji]128522[/emoji]

She sounds like a cat that is uncomfortable and close to delivering. Did you see my post #12?

Thank you for the reply, i will surely do that ive been makong beds all over the place for her in her favorite spots so hopefully she decides to have the kitties in one of the spots i made her. She can be a very stubborn girl though. Im staying as calm as possible and doing everything possible to make her comfortable. Im just so nervous, my babygirls having babies.

How old is she? Did you breed her on purpose? If so, do you know exactly when she mated?

No i didnt breed her on purpose i would of never of chose to breed at her age and with no experience, shes about 1 yr old. I had her schedule to get neutered and a month before she was schedule she went into heat and my 6 yr old decided to open the window while i was going to the restroom she took off then an hour later came running back in with a male cat chasing after her. Shes an indoor and outdoor cat, so i dont blame my six yr old because he didnt know she was in heat but hes use to ppening the window for her and letting her play next to the window outside she never took off till the one time he let her out when she was in heat
