Merlin, my seventeen year old Maine coon, sometimes has a drool on his chin. He is happy as ever, but when I am petting him I notice that his chin is wet. Does anybody know what could be causing this?

Some cats will drool when they're really happy. Seriously.

Health-wise, could be that he has some dental issues.

Haha, he was an orphan kitty so he thinks that he's a little person! He lick my hair and try's to eat my food and take baths with me! I'm so glad he's ok!

Yup, happy cats do drool sometimes... but so do cats with dental or mouth issues. I hope it's just happy drool, but we can't forget about the mouth, especially in our seniors.

Not meaning to alarm, but it's something to think about.
