Bee9212,
Lol... I hear ya.. But, I am feeding the strays in my neighborhood, w/garage door open a crack, & food inside. Yur kitty looks just like Squeeky did when she was inside for a month... Shortly b4 delivery... I suggest you wake-up every nite & check her. Is she really crated? Or is crate in backround for something else? Cats don't usually do crates, if she is, then if she gives birth in middle of nite, it will be easier on you... Our Squeeky (she meow's w/a high pitched Squeek when she see's us!) she's still just a kitten herself, she had 9 babies all over our family room (still don't have all blood up from carpet!!) when hubby & I checked her in morning we were collecting newborns from everywhere, it was s cold nite, I forgot to turn up heat higher, so kittens were freezing to death! We lost one (prob the 1st one-it looked healthy, but too cold[emoji]128549[/emoji]) we warned, rubbed, cleaned, put under our shirts the remaining 8!!! What a morning!! Momma jumped into gear w/us there. (Still dunno why she didn't use the birthing bed we set-up? She was prob Verry confused?!) once a heating pad was put under the towel in birthing bed, she jumped in & didn't leave them all day! My birthing bed was an idea I got from a NY woman who made a warm place for strays to sleep & keep warm, using a Rubbermaid big square container w/lid, insulated it w/silver bubble packing looking stuff, and taped it w/insulating tape, lid too. The handles had sir holes in them, & put in an inexpensive cat door. Worked great. Got too hot, took off lid, and when they looked a bit squeezy in there we got them a much larger box. It's SOO cute to watch kittens 'wobble' when walking...[emoji]128512[/emoji][emoji]10083[/emoji]
Soooo, after all that, I think 2 weeks or less(prob less). Good Luck!! Bless You for what you, too, do!!!

She was gated off in our garage for 10 days for quarantine since we have a house full of young foster kitties. She has since been moved into our spare bathroom :) .. We had a ringworm outbreak from a foster mom and her babies last year that was a complete nightmare and took many months to get rid of!! Since then, quarantine happens in the garage with separate sets of clothing until they are deemed ''bug-free''
. Gosh I hope it is less than 2 weeks until these babies arrive...she is so uncomfortable!!

I jus now read everyone's comments... I'm SOO dumb sometimes.. After I saw movement,(& she let me feel for a minute) she had babies w/in days.. Waiting w/you... Praying, too!! Just have lots of 'rag' washcloths handy, in case you need to rub babies or stimulate in any way.. But, when Momma steps in 'nest' w/them, she's pretty wiped out.. May stay there 24 hrs. Don't worry if she doesn't eat or drink in 1st 24 hrs... But have lots of water on hand for her... And she'll need canned & dry Kitten food now. More vitamins, and calories. Our Momma looks SOO skinny now... Kitten chow, and I think friskys kitten (pate') 3oz cans are least expensive. Chewy.com has good prices. I don't know why, but ALL CAT FOOD AT AMAZON IS HORRIBLY HIGH RIGHT NOW!! Even cheap, grain-filled stuff!! 3# bag of Kitten Chow=$12!!!!! That's rediculous!!! I used to get 14# bag for $9 there.
Keep us posted, please? Here's our 1st pic

It shud be, sweetie. Thank-you for doing this & being a Foster... In my area there isn't much for animals, & saving & helping... That's what got me started rescuing (preferably one at a time!! This is my 2nd mother-the other gave birth out in Wild, but brought me 5-9week old kittens to find homes-SOO sweet of her, 'eh?)
The cats are all beautiful!! Yur stray, and the other PG one. It's weird they Don't like their tummy rubbed or touched, huh?
I'm Not an advisor or anything 'up there' like that, & hope I'm Not stepping on toes by giving you advise, after our birth?..... I, too, quarrenteen the strays to my garage... Then one or both cars gotta come out, too squeezy. But, ringworm IS THE WORST NIGHTMARE EVER CREATED!! My 2 Persians got it, shortly after I brought home my 2nd!! Had to shave them (refused to shave their pretty faces), then found out that the Melaleuca oil mixed w/water, & put on the spots got rid of it much quicker than 3 months of Sulfer baths!! Put sweaters on them, (even a cone for the littlest, if he wudnt stop trying to lick off) it got to all I had to do was hold up the cone, & he'd stop[emoji]128512[/emoji].... Best advice for Ringworm is: Vacuum, Vacuum, Vacuum!! That helped a lot, too..... You poor thing.... SOO many cats w/a contagious disease!![emoji]128567[/emoji][emoji]128519[/emoji][emoji]128543[/emoji]
You really are a pro!!

Still on the waiting train!!! I didn't think she had much time left but I was wrong. This weekend will be three weeks since we first felt kitten movement, so hopefully they'll be here soon. Yesterday I was able to feel a fetal heart beat - pretty low on her stomach! This has been a great experience. Thanks for waiting along with me :)

We have kittens!!
She has been delivering for the past 2.5 hours and has 7 babies so far. I am hoping she is done but her belly feels questionable. Not hard like an obvious kitten but almost like intestines. She is exhausted but so happy. 6 are all black, some have hints of gray hair, and one is black and white. I had to take a majority of the out of the kittening box and put them in their own with a heating pad because she was stepping all over them when delivering. Smallest weighs 85 grams and largest at 100 grams.

Ugh, I know! I did not foresee her having more than 4! I never thought 7, she didn't look that big and I never felt more than 4 in her stomach. She is so happy and proud of her babies.

You'll need to rotate the babies on her nipples. You are definitely going to have runts, so go ahead and get KMR and a small syringe for supplementing. You'll also need to weigh the kittens at the same time every day so you'll know who isn't gaining enough. They need to gain 6-10 grams each per day. If her nipples get sure, put olive oil on them, or Udder Balm.

Thank you! Rotate babies once a day? I started supplementing mom with KMR added to her wet food just to be sure she has enough to supply all these babies.

They'll need to take turns feeding. Make sure the little guys get enough. It'll be tough for the first 2 weeks, but you've got this!

Rotate every hour to two hours. You take the 4 biggest babies out of the nest and let the 3 smallest nurse. Then you rotate the small ones out and the big ones in. You'll need a heat source in the box you put the kittens in while it's not their turn. You sctually need to do this through the night too.

KMR is good for mom. If kittens are not gaining you step in immediately to supplement.

Any advice on how to deal with a bi-polar-like mom cat?? She will be purring and rubbing my legs one minute and then turn around and completly try to maul me the next. I dont even have to be near her babies for her to do this. She was iffy about her stomach being touched before but I attributed it to pregnancy. I have tried treats with her, still bi-polar.

I try not to bother her babies unless I am rotating them or weighing them at night. She is set up in our spare bathroom wih her kittens in a large box. Do you think she feels crammed?? Ugh I am a little upset she is acting out this way towards me.

Do you just sit quietly for a moment before touching the babies? Exchange a slow blink? Speak in a soft relaxed voice to her? It sounds like she still doesn't completely trust you. It could be an imbalance, but I'm not a vet lol.

Yes, I have tried all of it. Which is why she is OK with me at first, and then attacks me eventually. I had to take the big kittens out of the room because she was not nursing the littles if they would cry. I think she is mad at me for that but I dont know what else to do to prevent runts.
