Can I switch my 8 month old ragdoll from kitten to adult dry food?

I have a eight month old 13 pound ragdoll kitten named Noah who seems to be getting bigger every time I look at him. I leave Noah royal canin dry kitten food in the day, and give him a can of nature's variety instinct when I return in the evening. The poor little guy seems so hungry when I come back from work. I've read some people say that they only feed their cats kitten food for 5-6 months, but my little guy seems like he'll be growing past the 12 month mark. Could I switch him to adult food now?

Ragdoll cats are big cats, and will continue to grow for up to 4 years. 20 pounds is pretty common but up to 30 lbs isn't uncommon for males.

Kitten food is higher calorie so I would keep him on it for the time being. How much are you feeding him in the morning? Can you leave extra out for him to graze on during the day?

My vet says to keep them on kitten food until they are at least a year old, ragdolls grow a lot faster than the average cat because they do get so big, therefore he could use the extra calories and nutrients in kitten food. Purely because of his breed I might even wait until he is a year and a half or older before switching his foods.
He will be much larger than he is now haha!
