Help please someone, no vets will take me because they are all closed. My 3year old cat Kiki went into ACTIVE labor about 4 hours ago, she had one kitten who was a still born, And now she is laying down acting asif she isn't even in labor anymore. Is it possible for her labor to start up again? Is it considered a 2nd labor? Meanwhile she still have kittens inside of her, I can tell because she is swollen, and you can feel them. Please tell me my cat will be okay, and that the kittens are still alive. Please respond fast someone.

It can and does happen that a cat gives birth to a kitten and doesn't have more for a day or so. It has even been seen to go a week before the others are born. If mama kitty doesn't seem distressed or ill then she is most likely ok.

Did the first kitten that didn't make it look fully formed and fully "furred"?

I know that more advisors will be able to weigh in on this with better explanations; Hope this helps a little to ease your mind. A situation such as this is not uncommon.

Just keep an eye on how mama kitty is acting... Eating, drinking, using litter box with no signs of distress and if you still feel kittens moving inside her then the waiting game continues.

Yah her temperature is 102.4°F now, she is constantly sleeping now and the kitten looked like this...

Assuming the kitten's head is turned to the side it doesn't look right.  this could be why she just had this kitten now.

As @LotsofFur said it isn't unusual for the mom to have kittens days apart.  So long as she is acting normal, I wouldn't worryl

Taking the cat's temp isn't always a good indicator of labor.  If you want to do this, I suggest taking it under her forepaw/armpit.  Add 3 degrees.

Aww, poor little punkin baby.....

There is something not quite right with it's face, the lower jaw sticking out and a smashed face.

Please give this little one a name and a proper burial.

Yes, she will go in to active labor again soon enough.

Something looks off with that little guy, unfortunately. I think mom will have the rest of the babies when they're ready. Hopefully they will all be well! She's lovely.

Please keep mama inside and away from intact males until she can be spayed when the kittens are 8 weeks old.

@lotsofFur thank you so much, she still hasn't had them, her temperature right now is 100.8... she seems calm, blood is still coming out of her vagina, and last night right before I went to bed a random placenta came out with no kitten... so I'm thinking that was Precious's placenta; Kiki ate it...

Okay my cat gave birth about 15 hours ago (when i wasnt home) to a deformed looking still born, she hasn't given birth again or had any contractions. But last night before I went to bed, she contracted a random placenta. I know there has to be more kittens in side of her... her belly is still hard and swollen... I'm worried she might die, or worried that she won't have a set of beautiful healthy kittens.

This is the still born...

She needs to be seen by a vet asap.

It's possible the kittens were from 2 separate matings, so the timing might be off for her giving birth to all of them.

Regardless, considering the amount of time that has passed and from what you've described it would be advantageous to have her medically assessed.

Good luck, let us know how everything proceeds.

With a little luck, the placenta was of that stillborne...  And if she is otherwise OK, you may perhaps wait and see, and the others will come out when their time has come to get out.

But to be sure, let her got checked out by a vet.  ASAP. If you have several vets to chose amongs, pick the one whom is experienced obstetrician -

The risk is, she spreads randomly kittens and placentas, ie there is a havoc inside of her.

If the vets sees they are all alive and she seems oK,  and he advises you to wait, you will be a lot safer.

If not, a cesarean may be necessary.

Most of the cats are okay when this happens, but I'm overly cautious and always recommend at least a phone call into your vet office.
