Hi everyone. I recently took in a pregnant cat. The owners weren't sure how far along she was but she was showing and I could feel the kittens move. This was 9 days ago when we got her. She has grown a lot the last 9 days and is eating like crazy. Today I noticed she had a mucusy discharge. She's acting normal, other than cleaning herself a lot,and being more, affectionate. I was wondering if the mucus means she will have the kittens soon? I made her a quite spot with a box and blankets in the closet just in case. This is my first experience with a pregnant cat so any advice is appreciated. She will,be getting spayed after she has the kittens.

We have a good collection of articles in the Cat Health section which you can access by scrolling up to the brown bar, clicking on Articles, and then choosing the Cat Health section and scrolling through the choices.  To make this super easy for you, I am copying the links regarding birth, delivery and newborns for you here.  After reading this information, let us know if you have any more questions.  And good luck with your approaching new arrivals.

Update*

I looked at the links you provided and I've been reading tons of articles online.(Google is a wonderful thing lol). My Queen Rosie still has discharge this morning. She's kicking herself even more frequently and meowing for attention the moment I get near her. If I'm tending to the kids she's fine just laying down relaxing. I'm not sure how to tell if she's having contractions. I see tons of movement but I'm not sure if. It's the kittens or contractions or both lol. This is a new experience for me and im so excited. I'm guessing she will have them soon and I'm afraid to leave the house. From what I understand this is her first litter. I'm not exactly sure how old she is, as the previous owners weren't sure either. Im,very nervous for her and I hope it all goes well.

In the This Poor Cat thread who had 8 kittens last night is a link to a Facebook live feed.  You can go and see the videos replayed.  Wendy explains what is happening as it goes and you can see what contractions and pushing look like.  Or you can sign into face book and search for her name.  It's Wendy Flynn Del Monte

Tuesday I noticed snot like mucus coming from her. She also has milk leaking. Keep in mind this is my first pregnant Queen. I'm very excited and have been googling and reading articles like crazy! Haha. I was directed to the articles on here and they were very helpful. Anyway it's been like 2 and a half days since I noticed the mucus (and she's had, mucus everyday since then) and, then quickly licks it away. I took her temp today and it was 98.4. It was the first time I've taken it so I don't have a baseline to go by yet. But she should be close right? I got all,my shopping done today so I can stay home with her all weekend.I don't want to miss it. Herglands are full of milk now,and the kittens are jumping like crazy. She's sleeping a lot and still eating a TON. I thought she would have slowed her eating,by now but she hasn't. Anyway sorry for the long post. Im,just really excited and nervous for her!!

Ok,another quick question. I have another lady wanting me to take a pregnant queen. Apparently the people I rescued Rosie from told them I took her, and so these people want me to take theirs on Sunday. Its so sad that people don't spay them and then get rid of them when they get pregnant :(. My question is, Rosie still hasn't delivered her kittens. If i bring another pregnant queen home will it cause any issues? I expect her to deliver before Sunday but I'm nervous to bring another queen home. The cat They want me to take Sunday is approximately 6 years old and she thinks she's about 6 weeks pregnant. They say she's a little skittish but fine with other animals and fine with humans when she gets to know them. Any advice? I really, don't want the mamma or kittens to be dumped if I don't take her and I'd like to make sure she's spayed,

Do you have a place to keep them separated? Most expecting mommas are very affectionate but some can be aggressive so I'd have a plan of how to give them their own space before I took in another. Good luck! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

The queen I have now has a box set up in my bathroom closet where it's warm and dark.If she chooses to deliver in there, I'll keep the other cat downstairs. Just didn't want to actually make things worse for her or the kittens while trying to help another cat.

As long as they have their own space they should be fine! Thank you for helping them!

Yes, please take the other queen so they are not dumped, and bless you for caring. You can call a local rescue to see if they will take you as a foster and help you with food costs and vet bills. I'd keep the queens separate for now since they do not know one another. Again, bless you and please keep posting your questions and updates on this thread. We're here for you!

Thank you everyone! I will be getting the new pregnant Queen tomorrow afternoon and will update about her afterwards.Rosie still has not had her kittens. I'm not sure if I should worry. She's had discharge since Tuesday.( Could be longer but tbats when I first noticed it). She is full of milk and has been for quite a few days as well. Still no sign of labor.

After reading tons of articles I'm assuming it's her mucus plug? Its a white discharge with a,tent of yellowish color. Snotty consistancy. I noticed a big glob tuesday and a little bit everyday since then. She is still eating a TON of food. She's not acting in distress just sleeping a lot.
