Last night my Maine Coon, Merlin, said to me I a long meow, "can I go outside!" So I open the door and let him out, but as I'm closing the door Grace decides to run out. I didn't see Grace get hit, but I sure felt and heard it! I haven't seen Gracie this morning, but do you think she is hurt? Do you think she will be mad at me? I love my kitties so much, and would never do anything on purpose to hurt them!

I'm sorry that happened. These things can happen to anyone in the blink of an eye.

Where is she now? Have you been watching her? Is she behaving any differently? Do you know where the door may have hit her?

She's not mad at you. She knows you love her. No one thinks that you would ever do anything to harm her on purpose- including her.

Keep an eye on her. If she starts to act differently or is limping or anything, a vet visit would be in order. Accidents happen. It's no one's fault.

Welcome to TCS too, by the way!!

Thank you for the nice welcome! I am at school right now, but I know that the first thing I do when I get home is check on her. It was dark so I am not sure were she got hit. She is a tough, sweet baby so I know that she should be ok. But if she is hurt or feeling uncomfortable I will take her to the doctor. Next Tim I will make sure to pay more attention when letting the cats out.

Ah, Darlin, stuff like this happens.  The kitties are so quick that sometimes no matter how careful we are, they can dart into a space and get hurt.  The nice thing about cats is that they don't place blame or hold grudges.  And they are pretty tough when it comes to things like that.  She is probably ok, but when you get home and find her, let us know, please!  She now has lots of "Aunts" and "Uncles" who will worry about her!

That is wonderful news!  Now, stick around, introduce yourself over in The Cat Lounge, and post some kitty pictures for us!
