Mingo has a spot like that in his bald spot over the eye, too. It's just a brown spot, like a freckle, not a growth. I've been watching it for some time to see if it gets larger, but it hasn't so far, so I'm writing it off to a freckle of some sort. Are yours smooth spots or are they raised and growing?

Nice to meet you DreamerRose and thank you for taking the time to reply.  They feel a bit rough and the surface is like cauliflower.  They

vary in color from flesh, to brown to reddish.

Obviously the thing to do is take him to the vet.  The reason I haven't yet is that another of our cats just passed and we spent several thousand trying to  save him.  And this cat, Pharaoh, was so uncooperative with the vet this last visit she couldn't complete the exam.  So I know trying to take him again is going to be very difficult if not impossible.

BTW, love Mingo!  What a beauty.

I can think of several things like this that humans get, especially as we grow older. They are all benign, so I would wait to take Pharaoh in until you and he are comfortable with it. Unless, of course, they suddenly grow and start to look nasty.

Welcome to the Cat Site! Pharaoh is a beaut, too. Black cats rule!

My 17 year old kitty Merlin has several growths on his body that feel like squishy little round balls. They are harmless though, and if this is what your kitty has than he should be fine!
