Do you let your cat sleep in your bed with you at night?

I’m happy to report Cucumella has been sleeping with me again for the last three nights doing her best to be a good girl giving up her excursions on top of the pillows stepping on my face.  In fact she now begins and ends her nights laying on the same spot next to me even if  she indulges in some “strolling” all over the bed in between.

Sorry I posted twice. It had been indicated the previous one had failed.

My poor Miley likes to sleep in the bed with me. but i am a deep sleeper and toss and turn alot. and sometime find myself with 1/2 a cat body under me. I always feel bad i mean serously i'm a big person and i don't want her hurt but for some reason she keeps on sleeping in my bed.

If it hurt her, she would let you know.  Probably with teeth and claws.  They look like sweet, precious, fluffy babies but they have the means to defend themselves.  LOL

I am so happy that you are able to let her sleep with you again!  I haven't checked on this thread for a while, and when I first read of your dilemma, it made me very sad for both of you.  If Cucumella starts pawing your face again, will she hold still enough to let you snip the sharpest part of her nails with small clippers?  Not short like you would do with a dog, just the little points.

Thank you JazzyP for caring.  For the moment all is well, she does try now and then to "tresspass"  towards the pillows but as soon as I say NO she goes to her assigned place.  She doesn't like her feet to be touched and I have always been afraid to hurt her by forcing the issue.  Once the vet sent an assistant to me but this fellow was, very clumsy.  I don't know whether Cucumella howled out of fear or whether he hurt her but I didn't let him proceed. I paid him and asked him to leave and that was that.  She won, the little rascal.

So glad she's sleeping with you. Most cats don't like their paws handled, but you gotta clip their claws.

You have the right idea: just tell her no, maybe give a little push. I do that with Great Great Grandma sometimes. And Big Boy. They'd rather sit near, happily, than on you, unhappily.

It's still your bed, since you're the biggest!

Does your cat sleep with you at night?

Do you like it or dislike it?

Do you believe what some doctors say is true, that sleeping with your pet can lead to health problems?

Where does your cat sleep in your bed?

Why do you think cats do this?

FYI, All of my cats sleep in my bed  =)
1) He joins me in bed usually in the middle of the night or at around 5am if I played with him and fed him late the night before.

2) I like it, but he wakes me because he wants to be pet!

3) Not unless you have allergies or get sleep deprived.

4) Right next to my face. He sometimes paws at my face or comes close enough to give me kisses. He is super gentle and just wants cuddles. If I lay on my back he sometimes has the annoying habit of walking on my chest to go to the other side of the bed!

5) He just wants attention or is bored and wants cuddles from his mama.

Dudley when he was a wee baby, watching The Walking Dead with me in bed.  It's strange because Brian used to LOVE watching zombie films too, them and snooker.

Totally transfixed

He also basically lives on or in my bed whenever I'm on, in, or near it.  This is a delightful thread that I hope I've not abused by showing Dudley bolt upright, awake, instead of asleep.

Yes.

Do you like it or dislike it?
Sometimes... because he will intentionally wake me up and change his mind sleeping in bed with me

Do you believe what some doctors say is true, that sleeping with your pet can lead to health problems?
Yes and no. As long you wash your sheets and pillow case daily. My sister had 4 dogs what she would do is make her bed then cover her whole bed and pillows with a blanket...

Where does your cat sleep in your bed?
Perry isn't a touchy cat. I have a large bed so he'll sleep usually either beside me about two feet away or by my feet

Why do you think cats do this?
I think because.. like dogs they are attached to their owners and wants to stay close
