My cats allow me to sleep in their bed. And I prefer it to the sofa.

I know what you mean ! '[emoji]128049[/emoji]'

Of course he does. He sleeps curled up around my head or on my chest, under my chin (depending on how I'm laying). When I roll over, he adjusts his position accordingly. I dunno about the health thing, he hasn't killed me yet! (He's been in the bed since he was born, 4 years ago)

I love my kittens...but no. All bedrooms are off limits and we shut all those doors. We've had 1 in the house for about 6 weeks and the other for 4. They aren't shedding yet but when they do I want to cut down on the amount of rooms I have to de fur.

I do not let my cats sleep in the bed with me. They are not allowed in the bedroom at all. I would never get any sleep if I let them sleep with me as one likes to climb and sleep on my side (yes, my side....not my back or stomach) and the other likes to chew my hair.

"Let" my cats sleep on "my" bed with me at night?
Excuse me, but I can't even wrap my mind around that question.

In this house -- which is their, legally as well as physically by the way -- my cats let ME sleep on THEIR bed at night.  And I wouldn't be able to sleep without 'em.
This is how we like to be.

As far as health issues go, I believe it is healthiest for humans to be in the close company of cats.  More and more "experts" are admitting that cats' purrs are healing for humans, that cats' presence lowers stress and is healthy for humans' hearts, and contributes to humans' sense of happiness and wellbeing.  Of course I've always known that! and on the few occasions when I've had to be away from my cats at night, I have either not slept well, or not slept at all.  'Nuff said.

I get into arguments with my boyfriend because he likes to shut the cats out when they're in "crazy" mode.  I tell him to deal with it cuz we'll be asleep by the time they settle down and then I'll sleep badly.  They mostly go crazy in the living room now.  So he needs to stop being a baby.

Does your cat sleep with you at night? Yes.

Do you like it or dislike it? I love her sleeping with me.

Do you believe what some doctors say is true, that sleeping with your pet can lead to health problems? I don't think it causes health problems. Humans were given an immune system for a reason. We have lived with animals for centuries. We have bigger fish to fry than worry about something silly. I say it helps health issues=anxiety, high blood pressure. etc. we track more parasites and bacteria into our homes from other people and places than our own pets carry. Do a bacteria study of surfaces outside=more yucks out there than you realize. BUT we have an immune system for a reason. If you keep an environment too sterile it will cause problems down the road.

Where does your cat sleep in your bed? on top of my chest.

Why do you think cats do this? Because she enjoys my company and I enjoy hers. and we keep each other warm

You folks might remember that I had to stop Cucumella sleeping with me after she woke me up several nights stepping on my head and face resulting in scratches on my cheek, ear and nose.  Since then she sleeps on a cushion behind the bedroom door until I get up in the morning.  Last evening she took place as usual on the cushion thinking I had already gone to bed. What broke my heart was that when she saw me all of a sudden she got up and ran towards me purring  so happily  ............had she been a dog she would have waggled her tail. She seemed to say "your are still here"    i picked her up  and sat with her in my arms  until she fell asleep and I could let her lie on the sofa.    I  finally went to bed by myself feeling like a traitress.    Sure enough when I gotup this morning she was there behind the door waiting for me.

@Golondrina  Why don't your try letting her sleep with you and see whether she still walks all over you? Sometimes kitties give up bad behavior, and she may be so happy to be with you that she settles down right away.

Thanks DreameRose for your interest in my plight. Cucumella is not a kitten but 14 years old. She did understand she was expected to lay next to me, against my chest if she wanted to,  and she would go to sleep apparently quite happily with that arrangement.  But when waking up later on she would start her night "excursions" on my head and face.  I would then take her out of the bedroom hoping she would associate her bad behaviour with that punishment but it didn't work.  However, I would very much like to revert the situation and will try again as per your suggestion. Wish me luck.

Yes, we have always let our moggies sleep in our bed with us they have all had a different way of sharing our bed Zany used to sleep on our pillow or the headboard. Yahtzee used to plonk down on your legs. Roxy would go under the covers and tuck in to the back of your legs. Kato would sleep between us at pillow height .Ziggy would curl up at our feet..As for Komere and Zeus they start off sleeping at our feet and at 5am without fail Komere comes up to me to let her in for morning cuddles which I absolutely love even at 5 in the morning unfortunately Zeus has caught on to this and he plonks himself right between us.now. Health wise there has never been a problem we have always had indoor cats.. Why cats do this I would like to think it was because they love us but I think its just for a heat

Snickers sleeps on an ottoman in the living room till the fire gets low in the wee hours. Then she hops onto the bed next to me.

@Golondrina  that almost made me cry!!!  I would definitely try again.  I used to have a lot of trouble with Murphy sucking on my neck at night.  It took me months to get him to stop.  I kept redirecting him and telling him no and sometimes closing him out of the bedroom.  Eventually, he got the picture.  Maybe Cucumella has figured it out by now, too.  It sounds like she misses your nighttime snuggles.
