Hello I'm THE catmoma

Hello, I'm the cat moma. I call myself that because my husband and I have 17 indoor cats! There was a kitty explosion that happened with two pregnant kitties ( Bob Barker as SOOOOO right!). They are all spayed and neutered now. After trying to find them homes unsuccessfully, we decided we're keeping them it seems!  Many of them have special needs so that proved very difficult. We've decided to adjust our lives around them and ensure they have a happy safe place to live for the rest of their lives!  I joined the cat site because I was hoping to learn how to coexist with such a large cat family.I'll be posting pictures as the time progress,   but in the meantime their names:

MAMA Fred 9 years old( she was a pregnant stray that came running into our house one day)

Marshmallow ( my husband found her in a field in Missouri , someone shot her in the face with a shotgun.  She had the bbs all over, in her eye behind her ear etc. She was 12 weeks old  when we got her)

Chubberz 5 years old

Welcome all 17 furry friends. Wow, that's quite a collection! I have trouble keeping two out of mischief! Look forward to some photos of your extended family.

Hello Kitty Chew! Oh I never said they are all well behaved! hahahaha They are just fed very well, safe and dry. I'm still working on the rest!  lol

Oh yes, you can forget about having a nice couch! 17 sets of claws....

@MargeCat  Paula Deen got her name because she's obsessed with butter! hahahaha everytime we open the fridge she's in there trying to go for it! @foxxycat Oh Yes  We just gave up and gave them our main living room.My husband was previously a carpenter, so we're coming up with an idea of creating a cat  room for them with tons of activity  areas.We go through sooooo many scratching posts. I've also learned that we can't do catnip nights too often either. Just like the bar at 2am, too many fights! I get tired of playing kitty bouncer@MargeCat

Oh me oh my! I really wish I could say that I took all of these guys in, that would be a beautiful story. unfortunately it's due to our own irresponsibility! Our story began with 2 cats and 2 dogs.

The cats were both indoor cats so no worries there we thought. one was spayed the other wasn't. My husband used to let our dogs out in the middle of the night. One night he let in the dogs and YELLED at our other cat to get in the house that he thought had got out. Turns out THAT cat was a pregnant stray haha! Six months later WE had 17 cats . I'll be honest I did give one kitten away to a young lady at work. I'm very picky about that kind of stuff and I specially told her to CALL me if it doesn't work out. Well, I found out she gave him up to a pound of all places! We were crushed. That was when I found out that I couldn't let another one of our cats suffer that same fate! If it wasn't a family member, we didn't want to chance it!

We're currently house hunting for our first home together so that the cats have a safe and happy home AND a place we can start our human family. My husband wants to build them and our door "cat run"

 I have to be honest about one major thing! I don't know WHAT we are going to do when they all start passing around the same time.  Since they all around the same age,That's going to be a very bad year for us!
