Hey everyone,

This is my very first post so i'll just get straight to it so my youngest kitty was being sick Friday after being out all night i noticed wasn't well in himself and obviously as a cat owner only you know what you're cats do anyway he was sick at first he was puking up all of his food so i waited until yesterday i fed him a little bit of food he kept it down did a bit of a purr he's just laying around me being silly i gave him a full packet of cat food
so today i am hoping to give him only small portions today for 24 hours and see how it goes he seems to be okay he's not doing abnormal things such as meowing  when he moves however if you stroke him he makes a growling noise not to say ' dont come near me' but more to say my tummy hurts he seems to be walking fine he just feels a bit sorry for himself, he's just started going out and I feel that it could be due to him going in a bin and eating something that don't agree with him he's been drinking, the usual (except sleeping). If you have any input feel free to pm me or reply to this post and i'll keeo everyone informed :)

Many Thanks

Hi, and welcome to TCS.

As you said, every cat owner knows their cats best, and that being said, it sounds like your little guy is pretty much acting normal except for the vomiting at first, right?  So it does seems as if he ate something he shouldn't have on his first "big adventure".   I'm hoping by now he's totally back to normal and doesn't even appear to have a tummy ache

Cats do get sick from time to time. It's usually not something you need to worry about so long as it doesn't keep happening. I understand the panic though. I freak out every time any of my cats get sick regardless of whether it's warranted or not.

Wait, did your cat way onion? That's very poisonous to cats. Can you contact your vet right away?

I know there very poisonous to them, I've contacted the vet and got him checked out the vet said he seems fine and that hes got a lucky escape and said if the it persists to contact an emergency vet, this morning he does seems a lot better and just eger to get out again he's been doing his normal meows, purring, waking about and playing his stools seem to be okay I'm just sticking to small teaspoons of food today and see if he is being sick still if he still is ill contact the emergency vets :) it's just a shame we can't stop cats from eating things they shouldn't but they're just using there natural instincts however long as he's okay that's the priority to me :)

I am proud to announce there is no more poorly kitty, He's kept food down, He's meowing at the door as per usual, jumping and purring which I'm glad about as the vet said he's one very lucky cat lets hope he has learned his lesson. Thank you to everyone that has helped me and gave me advice
