My cat likes to hop in the tub and lick the drips from the faucet but most of the drips land on his head. He's always got a wet head. Just a little patch about the size of a quarter. But I've noticed its started to smell funny? Maybe like mildew.

I just wanted to know if that's actually possible for his fur on his head to grow something like that just from being wet every once in awhile?

Also, if this is mildew in his fur, how would I clean it and keep him safe?

One of my cats used to love water. He used to demand you drizzle water off your fingers for him to drink when you showered. He also used to stick his head under the shower. Claude used to get soaking wet all the time
and he never smelled bad or like mildew.

Is it possible your cat got something else on his fur?

I'm inclined to agree. I have a cat that absolutely loves running water (dripping sinks, showers, etc.) as well & I've never smelled anything like mildew on him.
