Well, Happy Thursday night.
We're going to to Rick's mother's house bright and early Friday morning and I'm afraid I'll forget to ask the Friday question. I thought I'd ask now.

Look out your kitchen window.....what do you see? If you can, post a picture of your view.

There is not much to see out my kitchen window. I live in an Apartment complex that used to be an old Army base. So all I see is other apartments.

...with the cats...
my house is quite old, 1880's, so there have been additions to it throughout the years. i have two windows in my kitchen -- one that's above the sink looks out into the back enclosed porch, and the other (on the opposite side of the kitchen) looks out into the front enclosed porch.

what i see physically when i look out those two windows are:  (back enclosed porch) the two upright freezers, spare refrigerator, and the dryer, plus 7 buckets of cat litter and a load of kindling (for the wood stove); and, (front enclosed porch) firewood stacked up to about 2 feet from the ceiling.

what i see in my mind when i look out those two windows are:  (back enclosed porch) the laundry/storage room i have planned; and (front enclosed porch), the kitchen extension i have planned.

When I look out my kitchen window I see all the splatters from washing/rinsing dishes in the sink.  Here is a picture my daughter took from outside in front of the window.

It's dark out. I see darkness :lol3: I know there are trees and a fence out there. Possibly raccoons and skunks, possibly some ferals. I'll have to look in the morning.

I see 3 of my neighbor's houses and the woods beyond them and some sky.  There is also a pine tree just in the neighbor's yard.  The neighbor's house still has one of those old free-standing tv antennas.  The wind was whipping the branches of the tree against it the other day.  My one neighbor works an odd shift and has a big enough tv that I can almost see what hes watching.  He'sup all night like I am.  I've never met the man but he yelled at DH for mowing the neighbor's grass too late once.  I wanted to go out and tell him he should consider helping too and maybe DH wouldn't be trying to find time to do her yard work and our own!  (She's elderly and going blind.)

I live in a co-op.. and my kitchen faces the parking lot. Which is kind of nice because I don't have neighbors to look at and there's some privacy since it's not a big lot. Just behind the lot is the express railroad track.. I often watch the train go by. thankfully they're quick since they're express. Noise does not bother me.

and due to privacy issues, I put up some film last week. Now I really can't see much but love it.

I don't have a window in my kitchen
But if I look across the counter into the living / dining space and out those windows I see the building next door.

Our kitchen is at the front of the house, which is in a cul-de-sac behind the actual residential street, so I see our small front yard and the backs of two houses and garages.

If you want to be frightened, I'll post the view.

Next door to our house is an abandoned lot with dilapidated buildings and tons of junk (a destroyed camper, a boat beyond repair). There's even a top porch to one of the structures on the lot and I'm 100% positive a family of the biggest raccoons I have ever seen live there. The property is fenced in and no one ever goes there. My kids think the place is haunted. I think it's an eye sore. Anyway, that's the view from my kitchen window.

Well, if I were home it would depend on which window.

The one over the sink is pretty bland. It faces our neighbors wood fence, and their house.  It's blocked off pretty much - nothing interesting but since I'm short, it kind of doesn't matter. Sometimes, we see their cats traveling along the top of it or other animals.

The back window, is a sliding door.  It faces part of our back yard area which is very small but once the season starts going it's a nice view.  This isn't from the kitchen obviously but I couldn't find one which actually looks out from the room - I'm sure I have one somewhere at least showing the kitties looking out but this shows most of it.  My detached garage wall faces the house, but once the bushes are flowering it detracts from it substantially.

This picture is from a couple of years ago; I realized looking at it just how much the evergreens have grown since we put them in.  They are monster bushes now!  About 10' high and it really gives the area a nice private feeling.

From the front windows, the driveway and the street in front of the house. From the side window, the neighbor's house. Exciting.

I have two windows in the kitchen - one faces the barn, with it's door entrance, and a little bit of the fence (So once in awhile I can see my horse or donkey) the other window faces my front lawn area with the trees and gardens, and then the driveway and the road.

I do not have a window in my kitchen. Sigh..
Wish I did. I rent. It is a 72 unit building, 4 floors. I do have a big kitchen.

This is a view down the lane which I can see from the kitchen window. I took this standing just outside.

Hmmmm, I'm not sure what happened here. I don't usually see that big grey rectangle when I look out of the window.

This is what it looked like a few months ago.
