I've never heard of mixing the two.  The advisors here have been recommending staying on the kitten KMR and skipping the Step 2.   The powder KMR can cause constipation, easily fixed by putting a couple drops of olive oil in it.  Diarrhea seems to be more common with the pre-mixed KMR.

I think you were smart to ditch the Step 2 KMR.
Sorry, when I say they, I mean the vet here. I only have about maybe 4 tablespoons of powder KMR left and then thats it. They currently do not have anymore at the clinic. SO that means none on the island, its not a thing they carry in stores here. Their animal supply section is VERY very small. I am giving him olive oil with the KMR though.

I also posted on another kitten forum website (I really wanted advice ) and they suggested the pate goat milk mix.

has he had a bowel movement yet?
Yes he had one today. He has had one everyday for the past 3 days, but for 2 it was diarrhea. It finally wasn't diarrhea today. It was a more firm and brown, more normal looking. Although I don't know if that is normal for his age yet.

I finally got the vet to agree to test it for coccidia and parasites like that. BUT then I asked about the feces because they wanted me to bring it in tomorrow but he had his bowel movement around 6 (they vet is now closed at that time) so I wanted to know if that sample would still be viable since he does only go once a day that would be the only feces I have. Then they did a 180 and said if he is eating and active we SHOULD be fine so we will just deworm again...So i guess we aren't even going to try and test his feces.....I'm pretty upset and frustrated...

Like I don't want everyone to think they are horrible here because they aren't and they do great things for the animals here. The main vet holds a free spay and neuter once year, for a whole month, to try and help cut down the strays, and thats amazing! A few months ago I fostered two puppies and they were great help then. I just don't understand why with this kitten I feel they just don't want to deal with him... I feel like an overbearing crazy person contacting them several times a day....but I just want answers. If it end up being nothing, they still get paid for doing the work, so why not just try. Sorry....that got off topic, I just feel completely lost at what to do.

It's not you. You are getting this feeling because they have little to no experience with kittens, and they have no answers, but aren't really saying that. Your kitten does not need worming again at this age.

What will you do for milk next when your KMR is gone? Goat's milk? Can you get that? The kitten needs something. Can you get human infant formula? It lacks taurine, but is better than nothing and not harmful.

The more formed, brown stools are very encouraging! That's what you want to see! It sounds like he's getting better. Keep us posted! [emoji]128522[/emoji]

Thanks. :) Yes I have gotten Meyenberg Evaporated Goat Milk. I have actually already started him on it.

He did have a bit of diarrhea this morning, mustard color, BUT he has yet to vomit today. He usually vomits the worst at night so we aren't completely in the clear yet. His belly is pretty bloated and he hasn't ate in about an

hour. When his belly gets like that, thats when he has his projectile vomit at night. So we'll see. Fingers crossed!

Apparently the sample showed nothing. So we still have no answers. I'm just hoping the new diet of goat milk and pate helps.

I hope he gets better. Were you able to get simethicone for gas? What prescription meds is he still on? The mustard diarrhea is worrisome.

How is the little one doing? I hope he is better; poor little thing
Hi sorry, I got busy here for awhile AND Lux is doing great! He hasn't vomited in 5 days! He is no longer on any meds and no longer having belly bloat. His feces is getting to be a dark brown color, its mushy, but not diarrhea. I don't what was going on with him but I am glad he is back to his old self. He just learned how to climb a few days ago and is getting really good at hiding! His favorite spot it in the hamper or the fresh linen shelf in the closet!

Also if anyone has any tips to stop him from biting and chewing on cords that'd be great. Haha

Thank you everyone for all of your advice!

I'll be bringing him and his brother to the states when I return. His brother needs a home. I made a post in the Cats S.O.S forum if anyone is interest. ^_~

I've seen two suggested one is bitter apple spray and the other are cord covers. I also suggest giving him toys to chew on.

How is Lux doing?
Thanks for asking! I've been meaning to update but have been busy. We are back in the States and Lux has settled into his new home and is getting along great with his new siblings.
Health wise he is doing great. He had a check up and fecal sample here in the Sates and everything is good and the vet said he looks great. Lux hasn't had anymore problems since that disaster.
He is such a rambunctious little guy. I'm so glad he is in good health now.

Thank you again everyone for helping me when he was ill.

Here is Lux with his older sister. She is also a rescue.

This should be fine.  In fact, one of our forumists in Stray and Ferales  did told she uses exactly this Meyenberg powdered goats milk for all her several rescued litters, and she is happy with it.

Otherwise powdered goats milk comes in several different variations, so by this reason Im often unsure which of them is really to prefer.

Im really happy with this nice, splendid outcome.

Apparently it wasnt no real blockage of the intestines.  OR the prayers did helped.
