Interesting Tidbit of Info about 4Health cat food (Tractor Supply brand)

Today when I was picking up my cats' allotment of canned food from Tractor Supply, the employee told me that their 4Health pet foods are produced by Taste of the Wild.

Interesting! I didn't know that before. I told the man that the 4Health foods looked distinctively different and apparently what happens is that TSC has a distinct recipe that they send to Taste of the Wild and then the food is made in the TOTW  factory.

TOTW is made by Diamond. So is Kirkland, Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover's Soul, and, of course, 4Health. There aren't a lot of pet food manufacturing plants in the US, so most brands share a plant. I think only Purina, Hill's, and Iams have their own plants. Each brand supplies their own ingredients and their own recipe, and the equipment is supposed to be cleaned in between brands. But, yeah, it's usual for a lot of different brands to be made in the same plant.

Ah, okay! Everything makes sense now! A prior employee once said Diamond. So that's why the guy today said TOTW.
