Eye discharge?

Hi, my moggy has crusty black eye discharge on a regular basis. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, and his eyes look healthy otherwise. Is this normal?

Some cats get more eye boogers than others. If he gets a white or yellowish discharge, or the third eyelid looks irritated, then I'd probably call the vet.
