Blue Chrysanthemum - not cat safe

I think this list needs to be rewritten w/cat safe plants.  Beware, lily of the valleys can make cats sick.

Violets or yellow Primroses.. I don't really care for either one and I like most flowers.  It's odd that I really like most flowers and I don't really much care for either one for February.

I'm January so red carnation or white snowdrop. I'll take the snowdrop. Not a big carnation fan. It could be worse though. It could be the geranium. I hate the way those smell.

Gladiolas and I can't stand them! :lol3: They make me think of funerals. I had never heard of poppy being one of the flowers before.

When we had to pick flower's for DH's service, the first thing I told the funeral director was that I did not want the big horseshoe. Those are always the first thing I think of when funeral flowers are mentioned. That and the big clock made of flowers which is even creepier.

I have never heard of birth flower. Looks like mine are violets and yellow primrose. Don't see either here in February. There are 2 colors of violets in my yard---purple and blue with white. Had evening primrose once upon a time, but they died out.

When both my parents passed, I specifically asked for no carnations! They make me think of funerals and cheap filler flowers....

Morning Glory. Which I like because that was my soul-kitty's name.
We just called her Glory or Beanse though.  She was named after a sparkler though; not the flower.  The sparklers were so fun!

  Mine is Holly and Narcissus.

However, the flowers I really have sentiments for are Zinnia, Coneflower, James Kelway, Morning Glory, Daisy, Blue Hydrangea, as my father LOVED to grow all these when he was living and he had a knack for growing beautiful Zinnias and Cosmos.  I miss his gardening and I miss him.
His birth flower was Lily of the Valley, which I love, maybe because I found them as a child growing along the roadside near our property when I was young.  My sister and I took thread and needle and made Lily of the Valley necklaces while sitting under our flowering crabapple tree.  I was always mesmerized by the fragrance.

January - Red Carnations

Whenever Rick buys me flowers, it's always carnations: red, pink, and white. I love carnations.

I am a yellow or red daisy or sweet pea.

I had to look the sweet pea up and it is beautiful.

I'm red carnation, too.  Don't much like them.  I'd rather have roses or pansies, or sweet peas.  (I just bought some sweet pea seeds to plant along our front fence once the danger of frost is past.  We used to have them along the back porch when I was growing up.)
