my vet told me that my cat Pretty, a beautiful calico had a few bad teeth about 3 weeks ago when I brought her in for an U.R.I. I finally caught her with my bare hands Monday morning- she ended up getting 5 teeth out. Pretty was hiding a lot and not eating much, even wet food. I let her back to her colony a few hrs after her surgery as she was very alert and ok. I gave her a can of recovery the minute we left the vet- she ate some right away.

To my surprise she was very playful and friendly in the car with me on  way back to her colony. Wish I had a video of her. She must have really been in pain because she was like her old self RIGHT AWAY. Hopefully shes ok tom and rest of week but it looks really positive so far, just shocked how fast she seemed much happier and healthier. And she got her other teeth cleaned and polished too. $400 canadian total.

This change is a very well documented occurrence after cats going through dental procedures.  For one thing, the first few days they still have might have pain meds and anesthesia running through their systems, which seems to make many of the super lovey.  Also, imagine yourself once out of pain after living with it non-stop.  It's a huge relief as it is for our kitties.  A lot of times it's hard to tell just how much they were suffering before being treated but it's really obvious once you see the change in behavior after having the dental done.

My older kitty had 2 teeth removed about 4 weeks ago.  She's feeling frisky now!
