I know this is the wrong section of the forum but the S.O.S. section has no viewers and this is very urgent. I hope you understand.

I have an emergency situation, this is my first post and I registered just for this.

There's a stray cat I've been feeding for years and she has a litter of 3 (originally 4). The cat and kittens usually stay on the roof of our storage shed which is about 4 meters high. One kitten fell and cannot get back up, the mother cat is trying to get the kitten back up but is failing and is causing the kitten pain (she's holding the kitten by the neck and trying to make the jump up to a ledge that gets her to the roof). The cat doesn't trust me, and the kitten is afraid of me. Please tell me how I should approach this situation, I don't want the kitten down here, it's 12:30 am right now, and there are plenty of male cats that roam this area at night. Please let me know how I should approach this. I've successfully held the kitten by the neck once but it was very frantic and got loose, now it hides in a corner and doesn't want to come out unless the mum cat comes to get it, but the mum cat can't get the kitten up without my help, I've set up a ladder and put wooden lace sheets on the ladder as an incline to the roof of the shed but the mum cat doesn't seem intelligent or calm enough to use it. What should I do next? I can't leave the kitten down here at night. Please help

Sorry for the bad writing

This is very urgent, if anyone knows about cat behavior or had similar experiences please help.

I didn't see a rule about bumping in the forum rules page.

I would take the kitten inside. If it is young, it will adapt to you quickly. Are you in a position to raise a kitten?

Hi

Can you get a towel, toss it gently over the kitten, scoop her up like in a burrito and then carry her to the roof on the ladder and let her go?

That's what I thought of doing next. Thing is, the kitten snuck into a corner I can't reach, and the mum cat is laying there passively guarding it. How should I lure the kitten out in case the mum cat goes away? And if she doesn't go away, how do I approach them?

I've raised cats before so I know how to care for them; however, these kittens are really young and the mum lives right on my storage shed so it would be a bit unkind to separate them at such a small distance

Update!

I've managed to put the kitten back up to it's den. The mum cat is elsewhere at the moment, but I'm hoping she'll shortly return to the den and happily find her kitten snug inside the pleats on the roof.
Thanks so much for your support you two!

Or better yet, bring mom and the kittens inside a room. I know mom may not be that friendly, but it would be much safer and allow the kittens your socialized and adoptable. It would also mean that you could get mom spayed when the kittens are weaned.

So glad you reunited the kitten with its littermates. They'll soon all be falling off the roof though, as they become more mobile, perhaps even tomorrow. Can you perhaps create a comfy nest next to the shed, but on the ground? Then move the kittens into it when mom is away? She'll find them. Perhaps a covered box, or box on its side and covered? Something must be done here. Do you feed mom amply?
