Our little skully cat crossed the bridge last week. After a very short but extremely volatile illness we made the decision to end her suffering. She was our first cat and meant to be a boy so imagine our surprise when we found out she was pregnant. I'm so glad I was able to experience seeing her bring her babies into this world and I'm glad we kept one because we now have a piece of her still with us. She was a true hunter and brought home all manner of animals.... even a seagull once! I truly home she's happy pain free and hunting everything wherever she is now :( life won't be the second without her random bursts of aggression and chasing of spencer!

I'm so very sorry for your loss. The hole it leaves in our homes and our hearts is a big one and takes a long time to heal. Thank you for letting us know of this beautiful little girl, she sounds like she got the most out of life and her sassy ways were a big part of her personality. She's at peace now,  you couldn't let her have a future full of pain and fear, she would not have wanted that. Remember too that she would never want to be the cause of such sorrow when you remember her, but to celebrate the time you did have together. Let your past memories of her comfort you and try not to dwell on the end, it brings nothing but heartache. I'm so glad you have a part of her still in your family, let that part of her remind you of her love for you  and the family. Surround yourself with people who understand your great loss, I'll keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, take care.........  RIP sweet Skully Cat, you will never be forgotten and were so very special to those who love you so very much!

Condolences on losing your very special kitty, Skully.  Just try to imagine her up over Rainbow Bridge, showing that cattitude spirit of hers....She was a lucky girl to have been blessed with a wonderful family who knew how to appreciate her vivacious spirit; a loving family who loved her enough to give her the blessing of a quick, peaceful, comfortable release from dreadful suffering. Please do not hesitate to PM any one of us here - we have been in your shoes

I'm very sorry for your loss. You showed the greatest act of love by ending her suffering. Now she's free of pain and hunting to her heart's delight.

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. Obviously we are devastated however there was nothing that could be done for her so knowing that has a dedicated her passing easier to cope with. Life isn't the same without her and we miss her everyday but I know and the kids know she's better now and as sad as it is and as much as we wish she was still here we would never have wanted her to be suffering xx
