Hey guys! I could really use some help, I have a Calico named Amira and she is 64 days pregnant. I have seen no signs what so ever that the babies are coming soon other then her nipples are really swelled up, today I took her temp and it was 99.8 I read online if it is under 100 she will have them with in 24 hours. For the past 3 or so days she has been going under my daughters bed and sleeping for a little while and then coming back out and laying on the floor in front of us or lick the dog a whole bunch. She is 2 years old usually we keep her inside during her heats but the last time she slipped out. Any idea how long I will have to wait now? I'm trying to be patient but my curiosity is getting the best of me. Lol

Can anyone help? Tonight she was under my daughters crib and I went in there to check on her and her back legs were shaking really bad. I called my mom and came back and she was up walking around and then she went and ate, now she is just laying in the middle of the floor. Idk what is going on.

It sounds like labor may be starting.  Do you have nest set up for her to give birth in?

Sounds like she's getting ready to have kittens soon. This stage can be quick, or take at least a day. Keep an eye on her. Shouldn't be too much longer.

Agree with the others, its nearing. but the exact hour is still unknown, as these signs arent very reliable.

but dont worry, cats manage a little too long pregnancy better than humans, and you have several days to begin to think about it.

Good luck!

they often avoid a real nest.  In the nature they dont want to get their chosen nest smelly or flea infested too early.

But Im sure she appreciates she knows there are acceptable nests ready.   :)    As she is meowing much, I suppose there is some precontractions  ir even early phase going on.   That may take time, its active labor which is long but fruitless we dont like. Active labor with cats is shorter than with humans.

Well no babies yet, she woke me up this morning though and has been going around meowing at me for the past hour or so. And I followed her to her litter box and she had a loose stool, 65 days pregnant today. Hopefully we will have the babies soon.

Thanks for the help guys! She is under my daughter crib and her legs are shaking really bad? In starting to worry. Not like a constant thing, like will for a little while and then stop. Also she had a light brown discharge first I have seen of it.

Thank you guys!! She is still under there legs shaking, i moved a pillow under there because she freaks out if I leave her alone. I will keep you all updated, right now it's just sleeping for awhile and waking back up to legs shaking really bad. She seems to just want me to lay there and rub her belly so she can sleep. I'm so excited!

It does sound like she's getting close!

Do you plan to spay her after this litter? There a few issues with not spaying and trying to keep her in instead. For one, they can get out anyway. Two, she can get pregnant even if she's not in heat. And third, she's in danger of reproductive diseases like pyometria and cancer.

Oh yes! I have already talked to her vet. We are getting her spayed as soon as possible. She came out from under the crib and is now laying on the floor in our living room.

My poor girl is in there trembling like crazy, every time I go in there she grabs my arm and pulls herself closer to me. I feel so bad, I have been laying in there just laying her belly as much as I can, her legs started shaking early this morning but just every now and then, now they are shaking worse than ever. Hopefully they come soon I hate seeing my baby in pain.

Yes I had my boyfriend take the baby to get some food, I'm under the crib with her now. I told him I would be until she had them. I made her a bed and we are laying together now
