It can be tricky figuring out young kittens. I'm going to say girl from what I see in the picture.

Kittens are always tricky, but I'm going to say it's a girl as well.
My rule is that boy kittens always have a "this is where my manhood is going to grow in" spot, while girls don't. Of course it's always easier to tell what's what when you have a boy to compare to a girl, then it makes things really simple!

I'm actually going to say boy because of the distance between the anus and the genital opening. At 6 weeks his testicles won't have dropped yet, but I think I can see a spot for them to come in ;).

He is very young to be separated from his mother and litter. Where did you adopt him from?

He's 6 weeks old. I got him from a rescue and rehoming site. He actually doesn't seem too tiny at all. He eats solids and poops solids. If he is a HE anyway lol

Kittens should stay with their moms for 10-12 weeks so they learn proper kitten manners. So while it may be physically possible for him to be without mom, he us nowhere near emotionally ready. This means that you will have to be his mom. He will likely not know how to play nice and you will have to help set limits.

I'm surprised that a rescue would let him go so early.

I did some quick research and you're absolutely right! We'll be sure to watch him close and teach him well. Thanks! My poor Baby Buttercup :(

He will be okay. He's in a loving home. You will need to do a little extra work with him now that will pay off in the long run. Never play with him with your hand as a toy, he'll bite and we don't want our hands to be seen as toys. Make sure he has a nice warm place to sleep, maybe with a small stuffed animal to cuddle. Be patient and consistent. Will you be calling him Buttercup?

Thank you so much! That makes me feel better! He slept with me the last two nights. I put his kitty bed in my bed and pet him through the night. Thanks for the tips. I got him a bunch of toys and he's crazy about them all. Yes his name is Buttercup, I gave him that name when I thought he was a girl... so maybe Mr. Buttercup lol. Thanks for the encouraging words! ♡

He's a sweetie, and although the vote is in, I'm agreeing that you have an adorable little tomkitten.  And Buttercup suits him to a tee.

Yup, he's definitely a boy alright!

And yes, you will have to teach him manners, especially if there are no other cats in your home. Tesla (the kitten in my avatar picture) was dumped on the side of our street at 6 weeks old (so naturally we took him in :) and he immediately ate 3 bowls of wet food! He was THAT hungry! ). He never learned manners because he was separated from his mom and siblings so early, he had a BAD problem with biting people's hands (even though we were not trying to play with him with our hands), especially when he was teething (as in when he was getting his adult teeth, not his kitten teeth, obviously)! We had help teaching him manners though, since we had 2 adult cats already. Now he's a well behaved little boy! And he gets along famously with our two other cats :) they play all day long :) .

But if your boy does develop a problem with biting or playing too rough, PLEASE DO NOT USE PHYSICAL PUNISHMENT ON HIM! Cats do not learn through physical punishment! He will not associate his actions with being punished if you use physical punishments! Instead, yell OUCH!! And put him down and ignore him or walk away. Some people also do "time outs" where you still yell OUCH but then you take the cat into a bathroom, close the door and leave him in there by himself for 10 minutes or so, and then you can let him out.

I suggest these things because using physical punishments on cats will do nothing other than make the cat afraid of you. And if you consider yourself a loving owner or a cat lover in general, that is the LAST thing you want to do when you've got a new kitten!

Thanks for the pointers!! We do have three other cats but none are showing him any attention yet. So far biting isn't an issue but he climbs up my legs and that's a big ouch!! Lol
