Great solution. You did the responsible thing. Even if the owners don't claim her, she won't get run over or snatched by a dog.

I didn't stay to see if there was a chip- it was closing time. They will check her out, then get back to me.

Yes, she could be snatched by a dog,  or a fox, coyote, bobcat, bear, owl, or other predator. We live in a  rural area- even if they live "in town" there is still lots of predators.  And there are always cars.

I live on top of  a mountain, and I have 3 small dogs (Pekingese) and I don't let them in my FENCED yard without me keeping an eye out. NEVER at dusk, or at night. My cats NEVER go out. It's simply not safe.  I understand that some cats need to be outside, and I'm not arguing with that, but here, I feel like it's simply not safe.   I've picked up many  an injured barn cat and taken it to the vet on my own- I've seen what can happen

Sounds to me like you handled it well.  We'll all be interested to know whether she's been chipped.  Thank you for all you do for strays and lost cats.  You went way over and above what most people would take on with Naomi and Wynonna, and we all appreciate it.

Job well done.  She's a pretty thing, and as you said, loving.  Even if her original owners don't show, she'll find a good home.

Also, THIS is another reason I don't let my animals outside at "bear time" (dusk -dawn).They're awake, and hungry!
This was in my neighborhood.

I DO NOT feed these strays. [emoji]128512[/emoji]

[emoji]128562[/emoji] wow I'm glad we don't have bears living near us (I live in a rural area too, but we get bobcats, coyotes, and the occasional cougar)!! We don't let our cats outside, but I'm always afraid one will escape (they have collars and tags, and will be getting microchipped soon). If we had bears in our area, our house would be like a kitty penitentiary, to make it so they could NEVER get outside!

All the kittens are adorable, but Hank hanging on the scratching post made me laugh.

I LOVE the idea of the pan with the slots for the litter scoop. I've never seen anything like that.  I also love the line of pans for the kittens.

Some sweet news tonight.  I had a call from a man asking about his lost cat!

Sebastian called  me frantic about his Lulu!  She's his baby!  I'm going to bring her home to him tomorrow, and he will be getting his spay certificate on Saturday!   His brother in law called to help with translation (I do speak Spanish, but  i get lost on a phone sometimes)  saying that Sebastian was crying like a girl every night about his cat.

I'm so glad that there is a happy ending for her!
