She's scared and in pain. Be supportive however she needs.
Scary :-( I won't be leaving her will just stand back when she crys out other than that she is purring away wanting cuddles she doesn't look in obvious labour only these 2 times she has done it and was hour and half apart - first and last time kitten momma does stage 1 usually last long before delivery?

Some are loud and vocal and others are completely quiet. I'm sure she's a loving cat, just in pain and not sure what's going on. It's good that she has you there, she knows you want to help.

Cats purr to soothe themselves when they are in pain.  She could be having less painful contractions.  Rubbing her stomach when she allow it helps move things along.

If she is in active stage one, it can last 24 hours. Keep us updated! [emoji]128571[/emoji]

In awe of my lunas baby's, 4 kittens delivered she didn't remove the cords had to cut them this morning. No home will ever be good enough for these treasures! The most beautiful and discusting thing I've ever seen. Will not do it again! Appointment with the vets for 6 weeks time ;-)

My kittens are a week old today and have been gaining between 10-20g per day. All have gained today however one has only gained 6g is this normal to have a lower weight gain than "normal" and gain better tomorrow if that makes sense? She seems to be developing as she should her eyes are opening and she shuffles around like the others - she was the smaller of the litter but still weights 210g today a week on - should I be worried?

6g is the minimum that you want to see. If more is gained tomorrow you don't need to worry, but if it's still low I would supplement.

Do you plan to have mom spayed when this litter is weaned?

She's been booked in since she delivered for spaying, Luna was a house cat and the Tom broke in.... Lol lesson learnt! I also have great homes for the kittens we have to families that have kept their cat till their last breath!

I would continue to monitor the situation and weigh that kitten twice a day to better assess but your normal daily weight gains up to this have been way above average. Ideally a kitten gains at least 8-10 grams a day. If the gains continue to stay low or stop I would start assistance. In the mean time, I would make sure that you have KMR, syringes, and karo/glucose sugar on hand just in case
